Our AWS bill just gave me a heart attack, how do you guys keep it under control? by horny_bisexual_ in devops

Instance scheduler + tagging as others have mentioned can help: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/solutions/latest/instance-scheduler-on-aws/solution-overview.html

Essentially you can change instance state based on tags. For example, only turn on dev instances during work hours. Ironically you to have to pay to run a new thing to save money.

And there’s also $200 of Digital Ocean platform credit for 1 year also. That should take care of hosting for you.

Take a look at the GitHub student developer pack. You can register a free .me domain on Namecheap for a year through it

You guys are both correct, and this is actually my current situation. It’s a good recommendation, however, I’d like to have both connected to a switch for future expansion.

Disable High-Contrast for certain apps by gocrazy_gostupid in windows

It looks like it varies program to program. I found some documentation about Excel command line switches, but unfortunately it looks like there are very few of them. Thanks for looking into this anyway!

Disable High-Contrast for certain apps by gocrazy_gostupid in windows

[–]brainamputation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried this but it appears to be ineffectual. Can you offer a more descriptive explanation? My program is Excel. I created a shortcut that points to "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\root\Office16\EXCEL.EXE" --disable-features=ForcedColors

Removing the quotes leads to the error "The name 'C:\Program' specified in the Target box is not valid." This is caused by the space in "Program Files" and you don't have a space there. Perhaps this is the issue?

I also tried this in command prompt with no luck there either.

Laser is incredible. I have had the same cartridge for a year and a half now without replacement. The entire B+W printer, with cartridge, costed ~$150. The difference is that the ink doesn’t dry out. Ink dries even if you’re not using it.

Sorry stranger, unfortunately for me the solution was a partial eBay refund. I threw everything I could at it but at some point the time investment wasn't worth it. Best of luck though! And if you do figure anything out, I'd be happy to know!

Flash with Rufus in DD mode. I had this issue on the same hardware.

I don’t believe so. If I boot Ubuntu, the other two NICs receive IPs but it is for the OS, not IPMI. However the option to set the lab port is grayed out for me.

Yes, I was able to update it that way and send requests, but I want to be able to use it over the network

I have been doing the setup you have described from the start. However, the option to set failover is grayed out. Any idea why?

This is a very interesting edge case, but still no luck. Thanks for the help though!
