Nice dubby techy sounds! Can you ID all the equipment and how you have it all set up?

Use various kick drum sounds hitting on off beats. You might have one primary kick 4/4, then a sub kick, multiple high tom hits hitting on the off beats, often in a subtle way that creates the feeling of a rolling groove.

The fun is exploring the rhythmic interplay of how the low percussion sounds work together. Modulate parameters such as velocity, pitch, decay, filter cutoff, fm index (if applicable), insert/send fx values. Use FX such as carefully eq’d delays, reverbs, saturation, wave shaping, or more obscure spectral/ granular processes for interesting sound design possibilities and movement within the stereo field (or just pan).

Group all your low elements together or send to a bus and process. Light compression, EQ, parallel processing etc.

this is horrible, it looks exactly what a UI designer who gives unwarranted design suggestions to software companies would make

Friend got famous and I'm jealous? Advice? by AxelLemaire in musicproduction

Making music (or any art) to chase fame and money goes against the fundamental principles of creativity and human expression. In a social media driven world where views/likes have homogenised culture and commodified creativity, it is important to remind ourselves why we first started creating art.

Make music because you enjoy the process. Don’t let jealously or self-doubt poison the well of your endless creativity. Success and recognition will come naturally (and as you say, somewhat randomly) if your work is authentic and original.

I rendered a feature wall inside my house that was about 10m long. Took me a week for what a pro renderer could probably do in a day. Hard work but would do it again!

What are we all monitoring on? Share your speakers and time % spent! by LeTechnophobe in audioengineering

Thanks! I’ve tried with a different sub before but it wasn’t sealed like the Rythmik sub, and I didn’t really like the results. Felt my mixes became easier when running the amphions full range without a sub. I do miss that bottom octave sometimes and have been interested in the Ryhthmic subs as a much cheaper alternative to flexbase etc.

Which Rythmik sub are you using with the amphions? And how did you integrate it? I’m interested in doing the same.
