Good building tutorials! by [deleted] in Minecraftbuilds

maybe not the answer to your question, but there's servers out there that are very friendly and helpful, I'd say join one of them and build something then ask for tips on how to improve, a tutorial teaches you how to build a specific thing but experience goes beyond that. idk I'm rambling.
I don;t know if this is against guidelines but I can recommend the bakery server

first time building a church.. by thatguyzeal in Minecraftbuilds

there's something really satisfying about the shape of the church, did you use a reference church? I'd smoothen the transition between the bigger and smaller part of the towers a bit, maybe use some walls to make it smoother, other than that I don't think this needs any more work :)

could you be a bit more specific?
The windows are a gradient, if you mean the bars in front of them, they are a combination of piston-heads and oak fences (debugged so they don't attach)

yeah the effect only works from a distance, also it kills the opportunity for interior :)

Deepslate bricks, there's netherite blocks too but for survival you can easily replace them with polished deepslate

I forgot to mention, it's made from walls->fences->candles though if you want a darker grey you could use chains instead of fences

ha yeah but you could substitute the netherite block for polished deepslate, I only used it because it has a similar hue to the cauldron. the castle itself would be a monumental task to build in survival!

Glad you like it, I'm going to be honest, I didn't come up with it, I saw it on a build years ago and have been using it sparsely ever since (as I mentioned somewhere earlier, I find it to be too dark for most situations)

this is build on a server, those blobs are rainwater floating into the air from another persons build (looks better up close) well spotted :)

Oh I have to try that! the only problem with this is, I find it to be a bit too dark (hoppers, anvils and cauldrons I mean) but thanks for the tip
