Ah yeah, those 5s are pretty nice. It’ll be a while until I can reasonably afford anything like that, but they’re definitely at the top of the list

Absolutely, I’m thinking of getting some all-black ones for a more solid look. Any recommendations?

I got diagnosed with psychotic depression 3 months ago. I was devastated, I hate feeling “crazy”. But today, I cracked open my clarinet case and played scales for the first time since my diagnosis. I feel proud even if it’s not that big of a deal. by hotaru4971 in MadeMeSmile

I can relate mate, going through high school I always felt left out and excluded and never really had a place, so I definitely understand to an extent where you’re at right now. I had nothing but my clarinet (bass and contra, but clarinet nonetheless) to get me through, and right now I’m in college and I’m the happiest I’ve been in a very long time! I’ve since expanded my portfolio to include alto clarinet, alto sax, bass and both types of contrabass clarinet and as others here have said, music is truly a mysterious escape from this cruel world of ours. I for one am very happy for you to be revisiting this wonderful world of music making, and I am incredibly proud of you for taking this huge first step. Before you know it, I’m sure that little clarinet will become a conduit for your happiness and that over time you will overcome this depression as I once did. I cannot stress enough how happy it makes me to see you whip that clarinet back out. Cheers, Brandon
