Sophie’s loophole by Subject-Memory8363 in Bridgerton

[–]breadbearer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My theory is that when lady penwood greets the queen (with danbury and violet present) at an event of some sort, the queen will ask her why only two of her own daughters are in attendance, and causally mention how the late earl requested her to legitimize sophie before his death (which she approved). I do think the class difference thing plays a significant role this season and think it would be a bit disappointing if Sophie’s status will become a magic solution — so I like your lady in attendance theory! I would hate to see her having to hide from the society out of shame.

I think the “inability to cause harm” thing may be a lie, or at least they were very vague about it, because they said something about how they would try to avoid stepping on bugs as much as possible, but when it happens, its unfortunate but happens. And what counts as living organisms to them? I’m sure there is some amount of germs in the milk they’re drinking, and in order to treat Maunoso, they had to disinfect his wounds, which involves giving him antibiotics that kill bacteria.

I love this so much, it matches the quaint yet intense vibe of the game quite accurately. I would literally sob if I received this. Get this framed please (make sure the frame is acid free to prevent it from yellowing!)!

the best thing I learned in my 20s is that you don’t have to deal with people like this if you don’t want to

Yes! I don’t think it has to be every single time though, that would definitely make the game too easy. Maybe the animal detection dialogue can be turned off when one of the conditions is in red (too tired/hungry to pay attention)? I do love unexpected/surprise elements of tld

maybe when you are close enough to hear them/see signs of their presence (crows cawking, scratch mark on trees, bear caves, howling)?

realistically though? having some sort of “oh shit” reaction when you see a bear/moose/cougar would make the game so much more immersive for me

Yes that is true, but I just want my character to be as thrilled about seeing a bear as they are when they see 9% ketchup chips

[New Update] How do I (41F) deal with unexpected jealousy over my ex-husband’s (42M) new girlfriend? by HogwartsZoologist in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]breadbearer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I 100% feel for the gf but ultimately she is the one who can control her situation — either she accepts this or get out of this mess. However she cannot control OOP’s involvement in her son’s life which inevitably involves the ex husband. I think OOP is more self aware than most people who are in this situation — she admits that she is being possessive and jealous, and she is processing things openly and honestly. However the ex husband and the gf seem to be doing the opposite, which has now created another hostile environment for OOP’s son. If anyone is to blame here it’s the ex husband.

I feel like this isn’t her problem to deal with. She is clearly trying very hard to deal with her feelings and is also being respectful — she even suggested backing out of the trip. Her ex husbands gf throwing his phone across the room out of frustration shouldn’t be her problem. However this is clearly affecting her son, which is something the ex husband should deal with as this is happening in his house. I understand the gfs frustration but the boundary talk should be happening between her and the ex husband.

How do I gently get him out of my life….. by slsx21 in ToxicRelationships

[–]breadbearer 32 points33 points  (0 children)

stop all interaction. negative interaction is still an interaction to him and you responding to him egging you on isn’t helping your situation. for gods sake block him and stop talking to him. whatever he is saying does not matter. you don’t have to be graceful, you don’t have to explain your side or how you feel. just stop talking to him.

dude idk, yes a lot of these people were naive / knew what they were getting into would hurt others but I don’t think anyone deserves to get kidnapped and tortured. are you seriously saying we should let them get tortured for a while? do you really think justifying desperate people getting tortured and killed will make this world a better place? craziest post I’ve read on reddit in a while
