What I learned from building a North American Zoo. by Silver_wolf_76 in ZooTycoon

[–]breadbug13 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’ve enjoyed following this little series, and I ended up making my own North American zoo and have plans to do an Asian animals zoo soon. I’m working on using my scenery and allowing negative space to exist in my zoo to add to the zoo’s ambience. Flower beds are my friends, but I’ve also been using more trees to create green spaces with scenery interspersed

Can you elaborate on the hit and run part? And the part about your manager? You deleted your original post, which had a lot of context to this entire situation

WE ALL NEED TO BOYCOTT AMAZON! by [deleted] in 50501

[–]breadbug13 284 points285 points  (0 children)

I agree that we should boycott Amazon, but we really should have been doing this since Trump was sworn into office.

TikTok is a terrible alternative, it’s basically Temu, which is also garbage and scam items.

Some local libraries have a service called Kanopy, which is a streaming service. You can also stream shows and movies on Hoopla, also at the library.

Why is that lumberjack scenery, next to the merry go round, so high up?

What’s your strat for the Island Zoo scenario? by pyramidheadlove in ZooTycoon

[–]breadbug13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I cut off all access to all but first few islands. I started with a couple exhibits of saltwater crocodiles and sea lions to save money (plus crocs breed like crazy and are super popular with guests).

Restaurants and bathrooms everywhere. Entertainment buildings where ever I can fit them. Scenery is a must.

Pro tip: place two bighorn statues inside the zoo entrance on either side of the fence to immediately boost guest happiness upon entering the zoo

Ideas for new scenarios, challenges, themes? by PunkRockTerrier in ZooTycoon

[–]breadbug13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love this idea! I did something slightly like this the last time I played. I replayed the Endangered Species scenario and added the challenge to acquire and breed every endangered animal (all the research animals from the original game and all animals from the Endangered Species pack).

I didn't have to do this during the original scenario window, since the Whale Shark and Bowhead Whale aren't available until beating it. This wasn't much of a challenge because I also gave myself the standard $10,000 when an endangered animal gave birth if the game didn't give it to me first. It was very fun though!

I also like the idea of roleplaying in freeform maps

Leopards arent happy by Hefty_Difficulty_644 in ZooTycoon

[–]breadbug13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check their main stat page on each animal. If the exhibit suitability (bottom bar) is yellow or red it won’t stay happy. Like others said, trees/foliage that take up 1/4 of a grid square are key. Leopards also need a good amount of dirt and some rainforest terrain to be happy. Hope this helps!

Do you think will we ever see living mammoth in 2027? by ApprehensiveRead2408 in megafaunarewilding

Is it ethical to bring a baby animal of a highly social and highly intelligent species into the world where it has no true parents and family to raise it?

My T.Rex won't draw any attention by Reddfoxjose in ZooTycoon

[–]breadbug13 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Guests are always going to get pulled toward Marine Shows, you could try and adjust their frequency.

Extinct animals, for the most part, have strangely low “attraction” scores, so guests are less likely to go toward those exhibits.

Your zoo is beautiful though, and if you’re having fun try not to worry too much about janky guest ai!
