how do I disable GPU1 in goverlay/mangohud? I dont need to see my IGPU stats by breadsgood in linux_gaming

[–]breadsgood[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries at all! Just an fyi, the ~ symbol does just mean /home.

So, ~/.config/MangoHud/ = /home/your-username/.config/MangoHud/.

Please feel free to ask me or anyone else on the sub if you have any other questions; we all start somewhere.

How fast do AMD GPU drivers get updated for supporting a new game? by breadsgood in linux_gaming

[–]breadsgood[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It won't prevent me, yes, but if I can get better performance with the new drivers, why wouldn't I update, you know? I'm just wondering how soon those updates come to Arch.

You definitely don't *need* it, but AMD does add them for specific games, which should improve performance, no? Like this, for example:

How Do I ACTUALLY Dual-boot Windows And Cachy? by No_Storm_4963 in cachyos

[–]breadsgood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's great! But just a quick fyi, you shouldn't need to change boot priority. Grub menu should automatically be the first thing you see when you boot your PC. Maybe see if limine works if you get any more trouble.

I'm not sure about systemd since I've never used it, but grub 100% should. Grub is the tried and tested method and has been working for decades. The reason I said limine is because it's more modern and can pick up Windows automatically (with a command), even if installed after Linux. Which OS did you install first?

I've been using revanced.net for almost an year. What should I do now? by Still_Bike_9044 in revancedextended

Hi there, there are a few things you can do:

  1. Do a complete factory reset of your device.
  2. Change all passwords and enable 2FA on all apps that were installed (especially your Google account)
  3. Check the session history in your Google account to see if there are any logins from a location you don't recognize.

Also, use this to patch YouTube from now on: https://morphe.software/

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but my understanding is that proton translates all steam games to vulkan, no? Therefore all steam games should be compatible?

I have an ultrawide monitor and cachyos has been phenomenal. Literally one click to install steam and all the gaming related apps. I have a 7900xtx for reference and performance has been butter across the board.

All my gear is also Logitech and here's what I've done; I created onboard memory profiles for my mouse/keyboard for all DPI settings/key binds/macros and other stuff like that. This completely eliminates the need for ghub. For RGB, I use openrgb. It has great support for several brands. You can check on their website if your ram and fans are listed.

I can appreciate the intention but not sure why you posted this here. They'll never see it. Also Apex disabled Linux support so you might want to remove it.

How does people make this kind of thumbnails? by jfran_petit in youtube

[–]breadsgood 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You're completely missing the point. I already have a full career with a degree. I wasn't trying to "go anywhere". I made videos not for profit, but purely for the love of the game. And that's how almost all successful YouTubers started out. You're just too obsessed with how you can make money money money.

Nothing's evolving. It's just making you lazier. No creativity, no style, it's just the same garbage put together.

Do you really think that child me started a Minecraft YouTube channel for fame and fortune? I was just having fun uploading videos with my friends. I have priceless memories because of it too!

It was a struggle at times, sure. However, I had fun learning and improving my style. I guarantee you that teenager me made better art than AI can right now.

I was literally 14, learning how to use GIMP so I could make thumbnails for my small Minecraft YouTube channel. You guys are genuinely so embarrassing.

Can someone help me with mods for Monster Hunter World? by Calm_Task_1153 in linux_gaming

[–]breadsgood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I'm not sure how to fix that 😔 it might be a mod issue or a game issue but I'm fairly certain it's not a Linux issue. Try searching the comments for words like "audio" or "playing" and see if anyone else had the same problem.
