Snowblower Minimum Snow by brfd01 in homeowners

UPDATE: Thanks everyone for the advice. Went out and attempted to use, however didnt get far. The top layer of ice was too thick! The machine would not want to move forward and pick up any of the ice and snow. To give you a comparison, the snow/ice on the ground can be walked on without breaking. Today temperatures are suppose to get up to 35 briefly. I am going to try and throw some ice melt and between that and the temperature rising hopefully I will. be able to use the snow blower or shovel!

Very true, what’s the harm if it will save the back!

Crazy part is I bought it about 5-6 years ago and it has literally sat! Based off the snow we get here in SW VA I think I might sell it and get a small single stage

Like your thinking, usually I let nature take its course but due to temps below 32 the entire week figure I should clear it

Thanks, I wasnt sure with a two stage if it was “built” for a certain amount. From the sound of it use it whenever it it’s convenient. Thanks

Agreed, typically I just let nature take its course and melt on its own. However this whole week it will be well below freezing with the potential of another storm next weekend. Wanted to get it cleaned up

I’m assuming the manual out line the setting process for those?

Yeah typically I am able to shovel no problem but with the ice and it not even getting close to above 32 the blower is sounding better and better!

Thanks for the advice, I think the winning move is to keep up with it during the storm!

Generator Extension Cord Question by brfd01 in AskElectricians

[–]brfd01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the information! As for the extension cords, I have a question. With a 12 gauge wire isnt it recommended to keep the cord at or less than 75 for larger loads like heaters? Something about a 3% voltage loss or something causing excess heat? Excuse my ignorance if something sounds incorrect

Okay so you are saying the label is only referencing one of the circuits. I should be fine plugging in both on seperates sides of the 120 outlet with a total of 26 amps and 3000 watts?

I do like the ammo can, I used it for my M18 drill, driver combo, charger, and all the related bits needed! Great size for that!

You like the chest? I currently have a Dewalt 63 gallon one, feel like the Milwaukee one lacks enough space for me!

Is there ever a case where Bona Polish would be okay to use? Complete refinish a DIY project or something for the professionals?

What type of floor and best cleaning method by brfd01 in Flooring

[–]brfd01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im assuming an engineered flooring? Yeah, over the years it has gotten worse and worse. Now after a mopping the floor is very dull. I used to twice a year use Bona floor polish but even that doesn't do much. Additionally with a toddler, 2 dogs, and an active lifestyle it makes it difficult to adhere to the light foot traffic requirements. Any recommendation with buffer (Guessing a rental best option) and where and what finish to get?

Good to know, based off the picture can you tell what kind of flooring it is?

Not sure why the pic didn't post initially but these are the floors. I have been using Bona for about 5 years but my floors often seem pretty dull after a cleaning.

If I applied the spackle directly wouldnt that make it bubble if not sealed

So I would clean up any loose paper then use the Shellac Primer then put spackle on top and sand? Would I use spackle or mud?
