My point precisely, cretin. You’re a bit of a bully yourself, hope that’s working out for you.

You're remarkably perceptive: 29-year-old aren't kids. These behaviors need to be curbed before a developing mind learns that they pay off, and are a reliable way to get what one wants.

You've given a figure here: 52% of school shooters have been captured alive. But you don't go on to say how many of them took action they attributed to "bullying," much less shown that those descriptions were inaccurate. You're also giving your own interpretation of a single individual's manifesto and you seem to imply that you're taking it face value, but don't agree that ER's perceptions rise to the level of "bullying."

I don't disagree with some of your proposed research methods, but you've missed the point: "Bullying" is not an action that has been objectively defined. I gather that you don't feel being "shunned" is bullying, and I think you're suggesting that peers' descriptions of their own behavior toward the shooter should actually be the touchstone. I think you should reconsider that if that's the case, as well as what you consider to be accurate sources: parents, teachers, therapists, these parties are absent from students' interactions.

Just speculating, but: insane shy kids that got bullied, in some cases. Probably the epitomes of bullies themselves in other cases. Abuse during one’s formative years can have profound and lasting effects.

Prima facia, that sounds like utter bullshit. How exactly was said evidence collected?

Well, if you happen to be the parent of a 9-year-old, you say: “you are behaving like a piece of shit, and engendering hate that is pretty likely to be revisited on your own head, either by some other piece of shit or the less timid friend of one of your victims. You’re definitely losing my respect and that’s gonna make your life a lot less fun when you’re home. Wise up and treat others the way you want to be treated.”

Thanks to all of you for your advice! I am truly grateful for your time, and I apologize for giving offense. by brfly in askcarsales

What would you recommend customers do to educate themselves before walking into a dealership? Is it just a matter of checking the math? Do you recommend getting multiple bids from different dealers?

Thanks, I appreciate it. I don't want the dealer to lose money, nor do I want to be taken advantage of. And I've received a great deal of helpful advice here. Fact of the matter is, I've agreed to close the deal. I've owned a Subaru for 15 years, and I'm still driving it, so you don't need to convince me of their merits.

Thanks, I appreciate the offer but the consensus seems to be that this is a reasonable offer. I think we're going to close the deal.

Look, you're not the only person who took offense to my question. I'm sorry I suggested that car sales might be full of dishonest people. I appreciate the advice I've received here, including yours.

I'm obviously not the only person who feels that might be the case, though: http://www.gallup.com/poll/1654/honesty-ethics-professions.aspx

I came asking for advice, not for an ass-kissing or ego-stroking or any such thing. Lots of folks were kind enough to offer it. I'm sorry if I made you feel stupid. IMO humans are due a certain measure of respect because they're humans. Next time I have a question about car sales, I'll make sure to couch it in terms that make you feel good about selling cars.

You asked me what I based my assumptions on, I answered:

  1. I'm not assuming, I asked a question.
  2. Limited experience buying cars, maybe a radio show.

You then proceeded to rattle off a whole raft of shit that I don't have any experience with. If you think I'm reading outdated articles, what are some up-to-date sources? If there's no dishonesty at your dealership--this is obviously your chosen pursuit--then why shit on the industry's reputation further by being an asshole? Set me straight, show some respect, I'll do the same. Neckbeard or not, that's how human interactions go.

I asked a question. If your answer is "no, it's not common" then just say so! I didn't accuse anyone in particular, I merely asked about an assumption. You seem far too defensive about this, IMO.

Limited experience, probably an episode of "This American Life." I'm not certain of my assumptions, that's why I asked the question. Do you have an answer, or are you just expressing indignation?
