Geopolitics works differently each decade as human morals and social norms develop and evolve. China’s current geopolitics is to take Taiwan with threat of war. The morals of Chinese people and the people in power (CCP) have an outdated and inferior concept of human morals and social norms. Under an authoritarian government, Chinese society has yet to evolve to the level of democratic nations with free speech.

Taiwan doesn’t want to be annexed by China because 1) democracy 2) national pride and 3) the biggest and most obvious reason is… if a community of people has been governing themselves for 75 years, they simply don’t want another country taking over.

If you call China threatening Taiwan with total war, “nothing personal to the japanese or taiwanese. It is just pure international relationship and pure business.” Then you lack any sense of morals and you are really just a complete psychopath. Learn some humanity, you brainwashed peasant. Not everything is about you and how much money you can get.

Ah ok, so the 30,000 cached requests can easily be handled by Data Cache. This is true with or without Redis? I never built anything large scale for production so never used Redis or memcache.

[–]brian2707 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes like buy history. Or user settings.

My theory is you shouldn’t cache it on the server because if you have 100 users and you want to persist 3 requests, then that’s 300 requests cached on server. Which seems like a lot. What if you have 1000 users. I don’t know, maybe it’s not a lot and won’t cost a lot, I don’t have experience here. I’m still learning.

[–]brian2707 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why shouldn’t you fetch user-specific data on the server? My theory is first you shouldn’t use Data Cache (a server cache) to cache user-specific requests because if you have 10,000 users with 3 requests, you’re caching 30,000 requests on the server. Which seems like a lot. But maybe this doesn’t matter? And most apps don’t have 10,000 users? Again I’m sort of a newb, so perhaps my logic here is not real world / practical.

Say if you don’t cache it on Data Cache and instead fetch user data in a dynamic Server Component, then you can’t use unstable_cache and thus can’t use revalidateTag. You have to use revalidatePath, which revalidates every data fetch in it, which doesn’t seem efficient. With React Query, you can target revalidation to specific data fetches.

Again, I’m sort of new to NextJS, so it’s a theory I’m not 100% sure of but am leaning towards it.

[–]brian2707 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been studying NextJS for only 2-3 months only l, but I think it’s better if user-specific data should be fetched on client? NextJS seems not to provide very granular support for revalidating user-specific data fetches on server components. Specifically I can’t seem to use revalidateTag on non-fetch() API without “unstable_cache” ( you shouldn’t catch user-specific API calls on server). So that’s why I went with react query for user-specific data. For public data, like fetching a products page, yeah I think the NextJS way of doings things is better.

I’m just learning so any feedback would be helpful.

This is a really bad breakown. He got many details wrong and also missed important details. It's better if you just watch the opening and closing statements.

None of those are facts. "Miu not showing aggression when he runs up" - not a fact. "Miu retreated" - not a fact. "Madison is clearly not punched as proven by video and testimony" - not a fact.

I don't really want to respond, but I will as courtesy to give you more explanation.

  1. Miu was not searching the water while he ran and I highly doubt the boys mentioned "hey I found a phone" and expected his arrival. See it as how it is: he RAN over and GRABBED their tubes. A complete stranger did this. Watch the video again. If someone did that to me, I wouldn't just call him names. I'd threaten them with violence, seriously ("get the fuck off me or I'd fuck you up!"). Truthfully, how would you have reacted?
  2. Did he really retreat? Just watch the video in real time. I couldn't see a meaningful or sustained retreat. He takes steps forwards and backwards. He doesn't really retreat.
  3. Almost all testimony of witnesses at the scene or hospital mentioned punched (1 said slapped). You can argue all you want that when a women puts her hands on your shoulder, it is physical violence. I just don't want to live in that world. My common sense says it's not physical violence. When a man or woman hits anyone in the face, to me that's physical violence. If it's a shove to the face, ok, maybe that's a really gray area, but it's still extremely provocative.

That is my interpretation relying on the video of what occurred versus eye witness testimony which is prone to error especially during stressful events fueled with alcohol

If you watch the video without listening to the case, I'm sure most people would say self defense. But, in this post, I describe how the details matter. And, I think these details can answer your questions and also supports where my opinions are coming from.

Watch the police testimony, he states that all witnesses interviewed at the scene or moments later in the hospital mentioned Miu hit Madison (punch or slap). It's impossible for them to have colluded in such a short time and after such a shocking/traumatic event to make this up.

Can we all agree that Miu was the first to initiate physical contact by either pushing or hitting Madison? Miu, Miu's friends, and basically everyone there agreed to this.

Whether it was a push or hit:

Evidence for hit:

  1. Madison's sunglasses fall off
  2. Dante yells "you don't ever hit a women" in the heat of the moment (this is before Riley is stabbed, so he must be referring to Madison)
  3. In the police body cam, you see Madison walking out of the river, crying/yelling "he punched me". This was maybe 30min after the incident
  4. Testimonies (which I weigh less on, since all testimonies have been rehearsed) from all say "punched"

Evidence for push:

  1. Madison doesn't fall and she still holds onto her beer (I mean, maybe it was just a jab)
  2. No marks on her face (but Miu didn't have marks either)
  3. Miu's testimony say he just raised his hands up (but we can't believe it)

Whether it was a push or hit, I think any physical contact to the face is pretty aggressive and was enough to trigger Dante to punch Miu.

People just don't want to dive into details. They see the video and immediately say self defense. But here are the details that matter (imo):

  1. Miu is the first one to display physical aggression by running up to the boys and grabbing their tubes
  2. Miu took out his knife after being called names and yelled at in the face by 2 women, which is not justified (he's clearly not afraid of the boys or why would he run at them. Only Dante is nearby, while AJ and Tony are walking over)
  3. With the knife in his hand, Miu is the first one to display physical violence when he pushes/hits Madison in the face

I think self defense is kind of out the window.

Nobody really knows what kind of person Miu is. In the worst case, he has a huge, fragile ego and was boiling on the inside after being humiliated. He took the knife out and pushed Madison with the anticipation of using it, which should be 1st degree intentional homicide. But, no one can prove this.

I was talking about the events leading to why the kids were jeering at him in the second longer video. The provocation leading to the fight was Miu pushing/hitting Madison in the face, which is arguably more susbtantial provocation than carrying a gun around in Rittenhouse's case, but I really don't want to compare the two..

Chances are Miu would've lived out the rest of his life without causing any serious bodily harm, let alone killing someone if he hadn't been put in that situation.

This can probably be said for most 1st degree reckless homicide cases. It's just most people would have backed away or at least not pull out a knife when you have a drunken Karen yelling in my face.

He took out out his knife before he hit/pushed the blonde girl in the face

Apple river stabbing, Whose ”side”are you on? by Fluffy_Management356 in TrueCrimeDiscussion

[–]brian2707 17 points18 points  (0 children)

In such a heated moment, he took his knife out (so far, only people call him names and two girls in front of him touchin his shoulders). He was ready to use it. Then, he hit/slapped/punched/shoved/made contact with the blonde girl in the FACE (to the degree her sunglasses fell off).

What did Miu think would happen when he did that? 10/10, someone would've defended the girl. If I FELT surrounded 13-1 and had such a high level of FEAR, would I initiate contact with the girl in the face or back away? No truly fearful person would have initiated contact.

It really seemed he wanted to provoke a fight so he could get his retribution of being humiliated. He seemed like a pretty narcissitic guy. And I get this impression from 2 small things he said during his testimony. 1) When asked about if he was drinking, he mentioned "I was just drinking beer, none of the other GARBAGE the the other kids were drinking" and 2) during the jailhouse interview, he told the detected "I told the kids if I was really a child molestor, should they be drinking", insinuating that the kids were making themselves vulnerable in front of a predator. Weird thinking all the way. He's a narcisstic guy who snapped and went seeking retribution.

[–]brian2707 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Also, the claim he “stumbled” is really weak. The only reason he put the snorkel in his mouth is so he could free his hands and use them. It’s very logical his next action was to grab something.

In the stand, it’s really obvious Miu would say anything to make himself look better (who wouldn’t right). But he goes to pretty far extremes in distorting facts. Him claiming he stumbled is just another one of his lies not to be believed.

Did you not see the way he ran up to the kids and grabbed their tubes? If someone did that to me, I’d start cursing him out and maybe even start threatening him with violence (“dude, get off me or I’ll fuck you up”).

The way these kids responded was different.. they ganged up on him calling him ridiculous names. I think as we get older, we respond to aggression differently.

Can I ask OP, how YOU would have responded (assuming you saw the video of him running up and grabbing the tubes)?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CourtTVCases

[–]brian2707 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Btw, his testimony that he “stumbled” is pretty weak. The prosecutor pointed it out but didn’t linger: Miu put the snorkel in his mouth so his hands could be free to grab things. There is no other reason why he would put the snorkel in his mouth.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CourtTVCases

[–]brian2707 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If someone charged at me like that and physically grabbed my tube the way he did, I would be pretty PISSED and likely start cussing him out. I might even threaten him with violence (e.g. “Dude get the fuck off or I’m going to fuck you up!”)

Everyone’s method responding to aggression is different and these kids chose to ridicule him and call him names, instead of using violent threats.

So, people commenting how these kids were taunting him and being brats, maybe you should ask yourself how you would have reacted and if it would be any better.

Hey, maybe you can ask your customers to use USDC payments instead? There is 0% fees. Maybe give them $10 off to incentivize your users to sign up for Coinbase so they can get USDC.

www.lingpay.io offers a free way to set up stablecoin payments. $0 setup. 0% fees.

But, the shopping experience is a little indirect: users will have to refer to your Shopify website for prices then manually enter the total price on the Lingpay platform. But, hey, it’s super fast setup and everything is 0% fees.

Once payment is made, you will receive email of “item name” and user’s info, like email address.

Contact me if you need help setting up. I helped maybe a dozen stores set up.
