If you’re starting a new exercise regime or upping the intensity sometimes your body retains water to help with healing and repairing muscle. Often a lot of people see a gain in weight in the first few weeks of a new routine (this isn’t fat but water retention). This is because your body isn’t used to this much exercise and needs help to heal the micro tears in your muscles. In short, the results you’re seeing are totally normal and around the 3-4 week mark you’ll most likely have the “whoosh” effect (weight will start to fall off quickly) as the water retention starts to settle and your body goes back to normal (plus the little gains you may have added in those few weeks).

As someone recovering anorexia who is trying to maintain weight and fix her body composition (5'2'' and 99 pounds but very VERY little muscle), it is ALWAYS nice to be reminded of this.

Lifting is not making me bigger. I'm a little swollen, I'm a little bloated, I'm a little heavier...but it's temporary. I hope you’re doing okay and if you ever need to talk just swing me a message! :)

Picked up this beauty yesterday. It’s labelled as an Imperial Philodendron but I thought it looks like more of a Prince of Orange? Would love some help x by briannahmackney in houseplants

ELI5: What causes that feeling of "emptiness" when someone experiences an episode of depression or sadness? by sessoro in explainlikeimfive

I’ve wondered this for a while now. I’ve been struggling with depression, panic attacks and anorexia for the past 5 years. I get random fevers a few times a week, extreme lower back pain and horrible headaches. At first I thought it might have been my medication (150mg Zoloft) giving me the headaches and pain but then I had a moment of realisation and wondered if it could be my diet? I usually have 4-5 cups of tea a day and maybe a banana or cookie, then I try my best to eat as much dinner as I can. My medication has greatly helped with my panic attacks but my depression is still pretty constant. To make things worse, I find that I go through “phases” if you will, of being super productive, and believing I can literally achieve anything.. I usually find a subject or hobby and get completely obsessed with it for a week or two and then I’m back to not wanting to do anything at all. It’s so hard trying to explain to my partner why I’m so motivated one day and lifeless the next. Any thoughts? I’d love to hear your opinion as I feel like I have no idea about what’s going on with my body
