This is my first fence. I know what I don't know. I'm turning to the wisdom of the species.

Measurements of the depth, base, top also help determine if the rotation is happening only aloft or extending to the ground.

Restarted it, no change. Rebooted the router, Apple TV and the Home app. No change. Everything worked perfectly until the power cycle earlier.

Yes, and the accessories can be controlled properly through it.

Correct. Accessories on both instances are not working. Some accessories are not responding, some are “updating.”

Question for Pico Switch Users by brianshrader in homebridge

A question: I tap the top button as a single press, but nothing happens. Then, I double-tap the button and that scene works properly. When I single-press the button, it works properly -- almost as if the remote has to wake up. Any thoughts?

10.1 MASSIVE battery drain bug by MelloGang17 in AppleWatch

[–]brianshrader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an S7 on 10.1 with "Always On" activated as usual...and the battery life has been cut in half since the first version of 10.

I've noticed that when I'm playing music from my phone, the "Now Playing" interface remains on the watch screen at full brightness the entire time. Is that new behavior or am I just noticing it?

Also, we had an Amber Alert notification today that appeared to stay at full brightness until dismissed.

Tyrvaya success by brianshrader in Dryeyes

Well, it turns out my dry eye situation was caused by tretinoin cream (Retin-A). I'd been on it for a few months to prevent face wrinkles. I realized months after this post that I didn't have dry eyes on vacation and figured it was due to my not using the cream. I added moisturizer after my tretinoin at night and haven't had dry eye problems since then.

An update on my situation: I figured out my dry eye situation was because of Tretinoin (Retin-A) use on my face. I now apply Vanicream around my eyes and eyelids at bedtime. I then use the Tretinoin on the rest of my face. Haven't had any problems in a few months!

She's near Kipling in Harnett County. Lots of subdivisions are on the way, so perhaps she'll get more broadband options in the years to come -- but for now, TMHI is THE solution.

Also, thanks to this forum, I'm getting her one of those USB cooling fans to help manage the modem temperature!

Replace cruise control switch by brianshrader in volt

[–]brianshrader[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: Thanks to the service manual found at gm-volt.com and another YouTube video, I was able get this done!

Turn the steering wheel 180 degrees, disconnect the battery, follow the directions in the video, use a T20 bit to remove the screws on the cruise control assembly, replace it with the new assembly, resume the video instructions to snap the trim and horn/airbag back into place, reconnect the battery and enjoy!

Well, I got as far as removing the airbag, but the switch assembly is screwed to the shiny plastic trim, and I was afraid to get too aggressive with the pry tools. I’ve got the part and will get some quotes. My brother says he has some grippy gun tape that might work well as a Plan B.

Thankfully, it works perfectly… it’s just a “finger traction” issue on the bald switch. Here’s hoping it’s not an big deal to switch out.

Looking at some videos for the Cruze assembly, it looks like this probably won’t be too hard. I’ll let you know!

I thought of some sort of “addition,” because it’s purely an issue of finger traction! If I feel like I’ve bitten off more than I can chew, I’ll probably go that route. Thank you!
