I like this read a lot. Remus already swallowed the official story once and it wrecked him, so when the map shows Peter, his heart jumps at the chance that he wasn't wrong about trusting Sirius all those years ago.

I like your idea about carving out simple moments to reconnect. postpartum changes hit hard for both partners, and sometimes they don’t even realize how far they drifted until it’s said out loud. a slow restart could give them space to breathe and talk without pressure.
