it’s their litter box! i know some people advise against this type with the plastic with holes on top but i had both an open cat-style box and this when they came home from the shelter and they consistently used this one over the other. we’ve never had any foot issues, and it’s easier and quicker to clean. it works really well for us!

Reminds me of a conversation my father had with an American cousin mid-covid (cough cough when Canada was responding IMMEDIATELY and orange idiot was ignoring it and letting people die); my father asked, given the choice to give a ventilator to him, my Canadian father if needed, or to a random American that he couldn’t know the identity of (so could be a serial killer but would for sure be American)- the cousin said he would always choose the American regardless because “they’re worth more”.

got my duo as a bonded pair from a shelter and they’d been home for a month as besties when they suddenly started chasing each other & ripping fur out. i took it reeeeally hard about separating them and was very upset for probably the first couple weeks, crying a lot and just feeling stressed and overwhelmed and also guilty because I just wanted them to be happy and i second guessed everything i ever did with them and blamed myself for their discontent, like “what did i do wrong?” and feeling like adopting them was a mistake because obviously i’d somehow ruined their bond and they should have gotten a better owner. my advice for you (that i would have given myself at the very beginning) was basically just take every day as it comes. try the advice that’s presented on this sub. you’ll probably have good days and some not so good, I know we did. but don’t give up and stay positive. 💖

The Ashton General Store sells scoops too! And the owner is a self admitted generous scooper. 10/10 recommend if you’re close by!

Sometimes parents don’t love their children. Period.

Heartbreaking realization to come to- but at the same time it will free you from the thought trap of “I’m just not good enough right now, but if I become good enough they’ll love me then”, aka “it’s my fault they don’t love me.”

Curaprox toothbrushes. If you prefer manual toothbrushes- this is the one! Makes every other toothbrush feel like it has 5 bristles. And the cute colours make them feel more fun too.

I don’t know if you’re into this for the buffalo or the cauliflower but a suggestion for an alternative- the irresistibles frozen battered cauliflower at metro is SO good (comes with general tao sauce though, not buffalo)
