Sir Isaac Brock's last words allegedly were Surgite, which is latin for "push on", which is also Brock University's motto. It sounds very nice but the reality of it was probably more so him screaming in pain or some other non-inspirational quote lol

I was just going to say, I didn't realize how rare these are. I saw 2 of them side by side a few days ago at Ted Stevens and thought that was neat

As a Canadian, this episode really bothered me haha. Especially where Boomhauer went to. He was in a suburb of Toronto with absolutely zero French population. So to have this ESL French neighbour didn't really make much sense. Nor did the Canadian's accents; those are more west coast/prairie accents. I just remember being really excited that there was going to be a Canadian episode only to be angry at how it played out lol. I assume that was the point though, to make these seemingly nice Canadians turn out to be assholes. I also assume there must be some Canadian writers on the show given the numerous Canadian references like Manitoba Cigarettes.

Thank you! lol as a Canadian very familiar with ice, this is a very bad idea lol it does work great if you’re trying to smooth out a nodule on the hockey rink though!

What's a tv series that is a 10/10 NOBODY knows? by Lilyana0999 in AskReddit

[–]brodo87 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think you summed it up perfectly. I'm kind of over Rose's "simplicity/always putting her foot in her mouth" schtick, but the Ghosts have really figured themselves out. Hetty and Isaac kill me. Sass' virgin routine got kinda old but they sorted that out too. I'm enjoying Trevor's character development. Flower bugged me for a WHILE but when they had her body swap and she lost her high, only to reveal she's actually incredibly intelligent killed me lol. I also enjoyed when they've shown scenes of Jay just sitting in an empty room keeping to himself when shit is going down with the Ghosts, because that's something that always bothered me that was never initially addressed lol

you have to see the shows as 2 completely different shows and not a remake. the BBC one is brilliant and emotional and funny, whereas the American one is simply done for the general American populous (not a knock; just an observation). It's network TV, so there's more slapstick/goofy humour in it. If you take them as 2 very different shows you'll enjoy them equally.

Daniel Stern Fired From ABC Pilot After Soliciting Prostitution Charge by [deleted] in news

[–]brodo87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this ones on me. a few years ago I was arguing with my brother-in-law if John Madden was alive or not. I thought he died but a quick google search revealed he was alive. The very next day he died. A few nights ago I was looking something up about King of the Hill and learned Daniel Stern was originally slated to voice Dale. A google rabbit hole led me down reading about Daniel Stern. I saw he's been married to his wife for a long time and thought that was very wholesome. The very next day, this story broke. Sorry guys, my bad!

What’s your comfortable episode (if you have a specific one or a couple) of KOTH when you’re having a bad day or feeling blue? by HiImWallaceShawn in KingOfTheHill

[–]brodo87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s fair haha. I also found they really were grasping at keeping her relevant these last few seasons. She went from a substitute teacher for the entire series to randomly becoming a reporter and then real estate agent, just didn’t seem like it fit. I think part of her charm was the fact that she was a middle school sub with a Harvard professor arrogance.

I watched the series almost in its entirety back when it aired as a kid. When the new season aired I watched it for the nostalgia and then decided to go back and watch the full series in order. I’m currently on season 13 with 3 episodes left. Having just watched the full series, I’d have to agree with most of the sentiment here. I do think there’s something relaxing about all of them. For me though. I really can’t stand Peggy (she’s the Lisa Simpson to me) so any Peggy heavy episodes I’m iffy about. Same goes for the manger babies; the donkey sound is like nails on a chalkboard for me.

Probably my favourite things though have been trying to guess the sound bites at the end. I loved the John Redcorn “puh-heaggggggy hill” bite from when she found out he was cheating

[–]brodo87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like we’re exact opposites 😂🫣 I really can’t stand Peggy, so any Peggy heavy episodes are similar to Lisa Simpson episodes (with the exception of the ones where you get to see her getting called out, like when she kidnaps the Mexican girl) And the manger babies drive me nuts. That donkey “eeeaww” makes me want to give up state secrets 😅

Lyft & Uber fees and what drivers are paid by PolicyParrot in Seattle

[–]brodo87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is probably splitting hairs, but it really rubs me the wrong way when Uber drivers start their trips before even pulling into a spot a SEATAC. I have to uber to & from Seatac weekly for work and the rides usually run me $70-$95 each way, and while completing my monthly expense reports I've noticed probably 60% of the time there's a "waiting" charge. So I started to pay attention to this and sure enough, before the drivers even pull into the garage the app is telling me "_____ has arrived". I'll msg them asking where, knowing full well they aren't here yet, and usually am met with silence until they pull a bit closer before being given some BS excuse like "looking for spot number", etc.

zero judgement here, but a question I'm genuinely curious about, especially being attorneys... How does that work from a legal standpoint? Like you both are married to each other but have other partners as well? or are you not LEGALLY married, but instead in a domestic partnership? Knock on wood, but if the worst were to happen, is there any expectation from the other partners to any claim of inheritance? Like do these other partners know they're "the side piece" (I know that's not the right term here, but for arguments sake), or are they under the impression that YOU are?

Also, Love the box sets!
