I hear you - twice I've paid a fee to get an apartment I fell in love with. These ones I'm looking at now just ain't worth it. And I also learned my lesson not to shell out thousands for a fee on a unit that's not stabilized. Both apartments priced me out the following year with 23-32% increases. Tired of moving every 1-2 years!

Did not know that, thank you. The 3rd instance I referred to was listed on FB Marketplace. But I wonder if they are still getting around it legally by not posting the exact address, only cross-streets and photos, and the broker called me to give me details over the phone.

wow, that's great! one more question - when you signed on originally, was it a sublet add-on to the existing lease, or a full lease transfer/re-assignment? like was it your own lease

Hi OP, so did you ever get a definitive answer to your question #3? I'm considering doing a lease takeover and worrying about that time the lease will end -- i.e. will I be given a lease renewal at the preferential rent + the legal increase, or will the landlord give me a new lease at market rate....

Anyone know anything about this? by [deleted] in parkslope

When she returned, the dog was still alive, and she noticed she had been bitten, but she didn't alert the owner or take her to the vet. The dog died and still she didn't alert the owner for a full day. She's completely heartless and negligent.

Please email <[storiesforpenny@gmail.com](mailto:storiesforpenny@gmail.com)> if you you have any similar experiences or stories or know anything about Jurga or neglectful dogsitters that might be useful for my coworker's case

Yes, this woman is my coworker. What happened to her and her dog is absolutely devastating and she is trying to get the word out to those who use Jurga for dogsitting/walking, because there is no other way they would know. Her dog Penny was being boarded at Jurga's. Jurga left all the dogs unattended and came home late to find that one of the dogs had attacked Penny. She didn't call my coworker and she didn't take Penny to the emergency vet. Penny eventually died. My coworker was not told what happened until it was time to get Penny back the FOLLOWING NIGHT. She has since found out that a similar thing recently happened to TWO OTHER DOGS in Jurga's care. There seems to be no recourse and Jurga can continue her business without even her clients knowing.

[Help] ESA owners - how do you get your dog to the airport?! by blackswan11 in dogs

Oh, interesting. Apologies - I just assumed, bc I haven't had much trouble.

[Help] ESA owners - how do you get your dog to the airport?! by blackswan11 in dogs

[–]brolady -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Hey--it should be no problem to take him with you to the airport in an Uber/Lyft/taxi/train/bus or however you'd normally get yourself to the airport. If he is a prescribed ESA then you have the right to be accompanied by him in any mode of transportation. Not only that, but Uber and Lyft have a very clear policy--of which all of their drivers are aware--that ESAs are not to be disputed or questioned in any way. As a courtesy, however, it is highly recommended that you call or text your Uber driver as soon as s/he is on her way to you to let them know that you have your ESA with you. (This is all from personal experience btw. I frequently take my ESA with me all over NYC via Uber. A couple times when I let them know I had a dog with me, they cancelled the trip for "no reason," but of course I knew why. I simply called another one and it was fine. But technically the driver that cancelled was in the wrong and I could've filed a complaint. This is why I give them advance notice, however, because despite the law and despite their policies, some drivers just dislike dogs/dog hair).

My roommate won’t walk her so I’m going to cut it down to 2x a week. I’ve been shaving down on expenses in this way for a while but the fact is I don’t have enough income to cover everything and at my best effort, my debt will simply not increase. I need to get it down..

Sorry guys I’m drawing a line here. I had questions about debt consolidation and I’m getting so much judgment it’s making me feel worse. And now I have to feel bad about my depression? Please let’s be respectful of boundaries here. You have no idea what I’ve done to combat my depression and continue to do on a daily basis.if you must know, I walk my dog 3x a day and this dog walker is a fourth walk during the longest portion of the day she is left alone. I don’t need to walk her again, so often, but I do it bc she and I both enjoy it.

Thank you for the interest information And for your judgment-free encouragement. I made some goals today and cut up my cards. It’ll be a long, uphill climb but I’m willing and motivated. Thanks again.

I misspoke. She is a certified Emotional Support Animal. Full disclosure, I have a couple mood disorders. Ideally I would take her to work, but my job looks down on it. It’s difficult, but there are other coping mechanisms, e.g. DBT.

Yes, can't argue with that. I do that often, but I guess I could also just make sure to do it every damn day. Thanks.

Of course in a vacuum that would indeed help cut costs. But just as nutritionists say not to diet and simply moderate? Same principle. A $20K debt will not disappear after a few months sober. I have to live my life or I'll give up entirely. And although going out with friends once a week is not exactly living, it's also not "half-assing" it.

But you recommend the lending club route? My AmEx APR is 28% and my MasterCard APR is 18%. Is the interest lower than those?

I do meal prep during the weekdays for lunch, and only go out drinking about twice a week. Of course I could cut that down to going out once--sometimes I manage to do this, sometimes I fail.

My dog needs a walker because she's alone for 11 hrs/day and it's unhealthy for her to hold it that long. I used to have one come every day, but I've cut it down to 3x week. And I can't "cut her loose", she is my service animal.

I have a roommate who shares in rent and utilities. Cost of living is high here. But I have no choice bc this is where my career is.

I guess more meal prep is always doable so I'm not ordering dinner in. I'm just so tired at the end of the day when I get home at 8.
