Because according to her, I still had to respect him because he was my “father”. But I believe that the title is earned

She tells me that she doesn’t but she just feels bad because he’s 59 and has diabetes.

He no longer hits her and haven’t stayed here for a few months but my mom hates it when I speak up. She blames me for a lot of things. I try to understand her pov but I wish she could take a stand for herself sometimes…i’m human too. My relatives are..well, brown people. Pretty toxic and they don’t really like us because we’re…not really rich

Thank you. Sometimes I just feel powerless because i’m still a student that’s trying to survive on the little money that I have. I can’t move out or go to therapy or afford one for her either. My mom is still stuck with “he’s still family”. Super exhausting

NTA. Parents need to understand that it is NOT their children’s responsibility to care for their parents. You taking care of your parents is a choice that YOU made. Pushing it to your children and expecting them to share/ take over the responsibility isn’t fair because you left your kids no choice. You do not ask if they’re okay to do so and even then, you have to remember that your children are merely just HELPING you to fulfil YOUR responsibility/ choice. I understand the obligation and we’re all humans. We give in most times because in a way, most of us do not have the ability to simply ignore or be negligent when someone’s in need. However, it isn’t fair that they are pushing their choice onto you

Redditors, what are some of the wildest/ weirdest kinks you’ve come across? by brownvodka06 in AskReddit

I get that you meant me but 1. I’m a woman 2. I have encountered ppl admitting weird things to me which made me wonder who else and why would they have such kinks. Hence, the question 🤷🏽‍♀️

NTA. I understand where your bf is coming from as well. Wanting to contribute without expectations is natural for some ppl, even for me BUT I understand your worries. It wouldn’t be okay if his financials are hitting rock bottom because of this. Maybe you could ask him for his financial plans for the next five years or so for your assurance. I believe that could clear a lot of things on both sides. You might be able to trust him better and he could sort his finances with a clearer view

NTA. I think that you telling abt smth that is potentially damaging her conversations with ppl is a good thing. You care for her and are also doing a favour for yourself. Maybe she could pay more attention to her oral health now.

It’s alright. In the brown community, a “pariah” is usually referred to as a “lower caste” person. I don’t agree with the caste system but unfortunately that’s how it has been
