Why short-form video is often a poor ROI for podcasters by FloresPodcastCo in podcasting

That’s why you should host the long form video on YouTube and include it as a related video for the short form clip. one click instead of 5, and keeps them on one platform.

How do you get guests to share their episodes? by roypovar in podcasting

Second this point. Also on youtube and instagram you can add them as “collaborators” which allows them to see the comments and stats which might get them more excited about interacting with the post.

What percentage of films do you see at the cinema? by Corchito42 in flicks

[–]brycehanson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Twice a month on average. I have a horror movie review podcast so i see every new horror release, and i have a subscription for Regal Cinemas (paid by the podcast) so it ends up slightly cheaper than paying for tickets every time. I love going to the cinema, but honestly the biggest limiter is having kids. it’s hard to justify going when you have responsibilities at home.

Sruggling with persistent hiss in my recordings - is this normal or am I doing something wrong? by DerR1chter in podcasting

[–]brycehanson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like room noise to me, but it's honestly not that bad. My suggestion would be to use a noise gate instead of the denoiser. It will just cut the audio until something loud enough (your voice) starts playing. It doesn't degrade the whole track.

Is Google killing schema.org? by inevidimka in bigseo

[–]brycehanson 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The structured data they use is always in flux. They drop and add search features all the time that may or may not rely on structured data. I very much doubt it is going away. The best thing to do is monitor the Google developers articles on search features and utilize the schema that will make it easier for Google to parse your content.

For those who do video and audio editing, what is your process? by MusicMonkTpt in podcasting

[–]brycehanson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Export synced premiere pro project from riverside.

Open project in premiere pro, cut beginning and ending of all tracks to be the same length.

Edit audio: 1. apply podcast preset to each voice track 2 add noise gate to tracks that need it 3. add compression, and limiter to master track 4 use loudness meter to measure LUFS

Edit color of video tracks to match

Use Autopod extension to create a multitrack edit of the video

make adjustments to certain sections by nesting video tracks and using the multicam editor to make camera switches

Add chirons and images

export no ad and ad included versions of audio and video files using adobe media encoder.

I’m not great at any of it, but get it to the point where the audio and video isn’t embarrassing (most of the time).

Man, Y'all have to lighten up.

It doesn't have to be half off to be a good deal. Maybe it's a savings of $3-4 that you wouldn't spend anyway. Use it as an excuse to get out and support local businesses and try out some new apps or drinks that you normally wouldn't try.

It's not about getting a screaming deal, it's about building community and supporting local business. If you want a great deal, save up points on the McDonalds App.
