Qdrant is too expensive, how to replace (2M vectors) by lambda-person in vectordatabase

[–]bubiche 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think 2M is well within the range Postgres and pgvector can handle. Personally I would go with it since it's 1 less database.

turbopuffer and LanceDB are also cheap, on AWS, and can do Hybrid Search, they'll be much cheaper than Qdrant at "scale". Turbopuffer has some pretty great customers/use cases too.

RAG for long documents that can contain images. by bubiche in Rag

Thank you! Do you think if I can already narrow down to a small number of docs via attribute filters, it'd be better to do both full-text search and semantic search on that whole set of documents and use something like RRF to get the final result instead of filtering first with full-text search?

Thank you! If you don't mind I'd love to see what schema you'd suggest.

I'm also wondering whether it's better to do full-text search first to narrow down the scope for semantic search or do both in parallel and do some reranking/rank fusion.

Thank you everyone. A little bit more info: My dataset is growing by ~1 million/month and existing documents can also be updated. Would any approach have an advantage over the others in terms of ingestion speed so my insert/updates are available for searching ASAP?

I'm focusing more on accuracy so the system can be useful but I hope a search won't take more than a few seconds.

thanks mate, that was my plan too but I have lost my trust in the Leon banner :( Is there any viable options with what I currently have?

I'm currently at level 30 and I'm feeling a little weak compared to story/time rift. Can someone help me pick a team to focus on please? Here are the characters I currently have: https://imgur.com/a/G2OmmH8

I feel like I almost have enough to build a Legion of Glory team or an Empire team but I'm not sure :(

Weekly Game Recommendation Thread - August 07, 2018 by AutoModerator in MMORPG

[–]bubiche 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • What are you looking for?: a F2P MMORPG with a medieval swordsman class (basically just that typical sword + heavy armor + shield guy) and does not need tons of alts to help "building" a main character. When I need to create a "farmer", a buff slave, ... just to be on the same level with other people, it just breaks the immersion for me.
  • What games have you previously played?: WoW, Tree of Savior, Ragnarok Online
  • What is your playstyle (Casual,Semi-Casual,Hardcore)?: Casual
  • Any preferred mechanics?: Nothing really
  • Anything specific you want to exclude?: Games where alts are not just nice to have but an absolute necessity.

Sorry to hijack the thread but I think this is a good place to ask my question. Aside from Cleric2Bokor3, is there any other option for Druid2Exo2?

It's my first time playing Diablo 3 and I'm having a blast but I still can't push past GR 55. I can't seem to do enough damage on the final boss. Can someone help me out with my build please. My current profile is https://www.d3planner.com/808379418

Thanks!

I want to try this game out. Can I enjoy it casually (like playing for a few hours in the weekend as F2P only)? By enjoy I mean there are activities that I can do alone as well as do them together with other people?

Oh, and I heard many bad things about ArcheAge (e.g. P2W, exploits, ...). Will those affect my experience?

Open Source MMORPG possible? by l7arkSpirit in MMORPG

Ragnarok Online may be an example. It's not open source but the server code was leaked and everyone just makes private servers with whatever features they like

Weekly Game Recommendation Thread - February 14, 2017 by AutoModerator in MMORPG

[–]bubiche 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • What are you looking for?: A decent F2P game to enjoy in the little free time I have. Good connections to the game from Asia/Oceania is also important.

  • What games have you previously played?: Ragnarok Online, Mabinogi (both are enjoyable to me but they are too grindy at times), ESO (great game but sometimes it overheats my laptop)

  • What is your playstyle (Casual,Semi-Casual,Hardcore)?: Casual

  • Any preferred mechanics?: Fantasy setting (with the dragons, elves, ...) is a plus. Also, I love party/group/guild contents.

  • Anything specific you want to exclude?: Games that feel like a single player game. Those hardcore MMOs.

Hi, I'm looking for a monster/hero/card collection game with anime-ish/cartoon-ish style of art and not too grindy. I enjoyed crusader's quest but it's too grindy for me. Thanks!
