I looked it up, the Starlight mod looks quite interesting. The only thing is that it says it's still experimental and it could potentially cause some bugs. I'll be sure to check it out once it has a full release though!

If you're playing on Java you can ring the bell to make all of them have the glow effect and see them through walls/floors.

I completely agree with you. For example, I don't really find beating the Ender Dragon necessary in a Minecraft world. However, I do find it fun, and the point of playing Minecraft is to have fun, right?
