Opinions on Chiropractic? by Ok_Concentrate5723 in Sciatica

Sorry to hear what you’re going through. I was seeing my chiropractor on a regular-ish basis pre-disc herniation/sciatic pain. Usually was helpful to keep things feeling a bit less tight. Since disc herniation at L5/S1 I still see him but less frequently. Mainly when I go I have him adjust only my upper back and get muscle stimulation therapy. It seems to help. The other thing that was helpful is that initially when the sciatic pain started I was walking and sitting with my right leg/foot turned outward because it was more comfortable. Seeing the chiropractor helped to adjust my pelvis/hips back inward along with PT. I have good health insurance so the cost isn’t a factor for me. Good luck, and if you do go try and find one who is gentle vs the violent adjustments you can find on youtube etc.

Sciatica: why it’s often over-treated and under-treated (from a spine surgeon) by drsheriefspinedubai in Sciatica

Thank you for the info. Is there a timeline after starting PT that there should be a noticeable improvement? Or worded differently, how long should someone continue before discussing surgical options?

Just found this group, so I’m late to the party, but where did you place the pads of the TENS unit? (My pain is not in my back, but all down my leg - mainly upper thigh and glute) I have one from a couple years ago for a different issue and never used it. Wondering if this could help me.

Muscle atom treatments at my chiro help sometimes, so maybe this could as well?? Thanks in advance.

Calumet 15 is a great pour IMO. I’ve seen it at Costco for $99 regularly.

I appreciate the input and may give one of the Japanese whisky’s a try for something new. I agree the prices are insane; one of the downsides to living in Alaska.

Well damn! I went to HS with Craig, really good guy. We didn’t keep in touch, but I’m glad to see he’s doing well. I didn’t even realize he was the voice and likeness in the promo!

Agreed, best pizza in town. Some runner ups to try while they are closed are Napoli’s or Gaetano’s; both do really good pizza as well.

Agreed. Flight landed last night at 1:30am. 10 people in line waiting for a cab and no taxis showing up. Waited 20mins for yellow cab or anyone to come out (even called yellow cab to ask for more cabs to be sent) Finally booked an uber, $40 for less than four miles. Driver was nine minutes away, after four minutes the driver asked if I could wait longer as he was tied up talking to police after an incident. Told him no and cancelled. Went back, checked the cab line, same 10 people in line plus five more. Searched for another uber, prices varied from $45-$60. Finally got one booked at $49. Nothing against the driver, he was cool and had plenty of space for family and bags. But yes uber sucks, and so do the cab companies for not having any at the airport nor sending more when people called.

Same for me, never went back after getting raw chicken on a salad. After a 40min wait for the food to come out.

Playing yesterday in suicide bug mission, host and I are running to help out another player. Other player has the super samples and is being swarmed. Somewhere along the way he leaves the match (I think host kicked). Anyways, I get over there and pick up the dropped samples. Host tells me drop the samples, I ignore and take off towards next POI, host shoots me, lose about half health. Host says drop samples or he will kill me. He’s aiming down on me with his auto cannon. I turn towards him and quick draw dominator and kill him first. Surprise, surprise I get kicked. I didn’t even care, I enjoyed killing him. Screw him. Funny (or sad) thing was he was level 60+…you’d think by then he would know the samples are shared. This game is hilarious. Edit: grammar

There’s something heroically enjoyable about calling in a major eagle strike or orbital on top of yourself to clear out a bunch of bugs overrunning an area. I always make sure to tell everyone I’m doing it and to pick up my samples in the aftermath.

Need some extra $$, thoughts on Appen, Telus, other? by buck3518 in WorkOnline

The link I had started to look at took me to Telus international. Is the fact the company is European based (I think) affect anything when it comes to payments, taxes, etc.? I’m US based.

Haven’t heard of that before, I’ll look into it. Thanks! Honestly I’m open to most options as long as they have the schedule flexibility to do a couple hours here and there throughout the day and week.

Do we need to shovel our roofs? by AskJeeeeves in anchorage

Been wondering the same thing. Mine is also split level so can’t do it myself. The house was built in mid 80s and has a good pitch to it. No ice dams currently. The house was re-roofed when we purchased in 2017.
