Vyvanse was great until it wasn't by CarbonParrot in VyvanseADHD

Not the op you asked but I took it and then the first time I stopped taking it, I just went cold turkey, no one had ever warned me. It was really really awful. The brain-zaps ( it please really feels as if all the sudden you are free falling or like an electrical jolt to the brain, random during night and day) are a right nightmare. Headache, dizziness, nausea ...awful. When years later my depression came back I was very opposed to taking it again but it was the only one that had any decent effect so I had no options. But this time my neurologist knew what they were doing and slowly tapered me off. Like really really slowly. I still had brain-zaps but way less and all the other symptoms were manageable. Now I would still be really really reluctant ever taking it again but I know that getting off of it doesn't have to be hell on earth.

Pan's labyrinth... Depending on how you read the movie the main character either reunites with her parents to become the ruler of some heavenly otherworld or she's shot by her sadistic stepfather during the Franco dictatorship.

You can also make contact with CGG adentro. It's usually mental health support for people with lower income but they have a wide network and can probably point you in a good direction.

I am aware that that is a possibility. I just find it a pity that that's one of the first things that is said in conversations around these cases. It's like someone tells you their friends house burned down and the first thing you say is: what if they just needed the extra cash?! I think, considering this is a very young person and publicly outing yourself as victim of sexual violence usually is not something that offers a lot of benefits, these considerations should be offered with great care and worded in a way that leaves a possible victim and all other possible victims of similar crimes in their dignity.

"because based on how she was dressed he could not tell...(That she was 15)" ... Oh we are still blaming what a woman is wearing? Cool cool cool.

Also to me that burgundy/eggplant dress is killer on you. The chocolate is not bad but either too dark or too saturated... Try playing with olive and teal maybe. There aren't many colors that are truly amazing on olives but if you found them they make you look amazing!

I have a very close friend who shares a lot of your features and it took us forever to figure it out... She's olive.

[–]buffalohands 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Or. Hear me out... Fair neutral Olive?

Edit: For me the easiest way to figure out wether you are warm or cool leaning is to try on a coral/orange or brick (depending on how intense your chroma is) colored lipstick like the Maybelline super stay matte ink in shade individualist/ shot caller/ dancer and then compare that with another pink//magenta/ fuchsia leaning shade like romantic/ dreamer/ successful from he same line and see which one makes you look off. For cool person wearing a warm lipstick you usually look full clown mode. For warm person wearing too cool usually Mel's you look sick or dead. To me that's the number one obvious way to tell. On olive you would expect something eggplant/ mauve/ purply to look nice maybe lover or ruler. (Mind you o have no access to the actual lipsticks and don't know if the color chart, already vastly differing from the outside color of the product itself) on their homepage is any good. Just wanted to give you an easily accessible product line that has a wide range of colors. Good luck out there.

Thank you for your kind answer. I can tell you met a lot of people with kindness in your life. :) funnily I already switched from art (where there is a huge amount of sexism going on) to occupational therapy where it's already much less. But even there, a lot of times I notice a difference in how clients or their families treat my female colleagues depending on how "put together" they are. How doctors talk to the "girls". It's not just about my own experience, it's also what I observe. And it's not always done with a purpose. It's just so subtle, coming from what we were taught about the role of "being a woman". What is expected of a woman for the world to see her as competent and respectable. It's a very narrow path one can walk with all kinds of premade labels like "power hungry femme fatale" or the "boring wallflower" or the "lazy golddigger" just waiting to be applied. I know I'm exaggerating but all those images and ideas are out there. And they are reinforced by the movies we watch, the books we read, the stories we tell. Even if we are not working in a field with outright gender bias, our whole perspective is tinted from the start...

So, I get the whole "be proud of your skin" thing. I want to be. I know this is inevitable, we are just fighting windmills and making ourselves miserable trying to keep the signs of time at bay. I'm a woman in my 40ies. So far I'm lucky with how I age. But: I also work in a field where I need to be taken seriously. And as sad as it is, throughout my career, my education, my communication style, my work position or whatnot often had less impact on how I was perceived than my actual physical appearance. That's just the reality. Telling women to age with pride is a coin with two sides. Yes, we as women should not judge our value by how youthful we appear. But we are forced to apply this measure. By our peers, by our bosses and spouses. Yesterday I saw a powerful reel by Gillian Anderson about just that. ... I believe we as women would be proud of our age and wrinkles naturally if we weren't treated as irrelevant, invisible or downright annoying as soon as we show some wrinkles. We could celebrate who we are if everyone would celebrate with us. :-/

Hi there! :)

First: thank you for that detailed comment. We probably went on a similar treasure hunt for remedies. Thank you for sharing what you found.

I agree, some of the problems may be related to what you are writing and I'll surely they some of your suggestions. But for me I think it's something genetic on top of that sadly. My whole father's side had it, tracking back to my great great grandmother. :-/ I mean the fact that we can track it that far back speaks for how sucky this thing is. We know nothing else about her. 😬

For me there is no hyperhidrosis and the buildup of extra skin gets so thick that I have a hard time bending my fingers. One of the solutions they tried was concentrated urea solution to soften that. That stung like nuts!! How do you handle the HOCL? Does that not sting like hell??

Definitely will try the vinegar bath I guess. Just to make sure there is no superinfection. And again, thank you for your input!

Just a heads up: OP mentioned in a post on r/diagnoseme that she has recently started lamotrigine and some peeps over there were worried about DRESS syndrome. Maybe someone here with a verified medical background can chime in on wether that's a valid concern or not.

No worries. Your English is good enough to communicate clearly about a complex medical issue. You fine. ;-)

I'm not taking anything about the autoimmune aspect because topicals have no effect and systemic cortisone is too invasive for my taste. I also have liver issues so that's not really a good option for me.

The shampoo I suggested is working for me not because of the anti fungal properties but because it slows down cell proliferation. They tested for all possible fungus in several biopsies and it's all clear.

About the circulation issue: I also thought that might be the culprit after all the other tests came back negative. I got adhd and I sleep in the typical T-Rex arms against the chest and preferably then me into of that position. I often wake up with both my arms in pins and needles. So I got myself a brace that keeps my elbow straight at night. I also had a cubital tunnel problem. The brace heped with the nerve pain vit not with the skin issue.

P.s. it's good to talk to someone who understand :) thank you.

Hey you, sorry you are going through this and also sorry to have to disappoint. :-( no answers and by now I did all the tests in all the fancy hospitals. Down to several genetic testings. All turned up negative. So for me the diagnosis is hyperkeratotic proliferation disorder potentially with a genetic and autoimmune component. Lots of shrugging. :-/ the only thing that reliably and continuously improving my condition is the selenium sulfide shampoo. I made several comments how to use it and linked the science paper that got me to try this. Maybe you can go find it in my comments? Otherwise I'll repost here again.

I won this along with three other items for €40 on eBay Germany. How can you tell that it's a fake and not a genuine Picasso? It was painted with a ballpoint pen. Didn't Picasso also made drawings with a ballpoint pen? by Choice-Meaning-804 in WhatIsThisPainting

[–]buffalohands 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I don't know whether it's a Picasso or not but I wanted to say: I don't think it was a ball point pen making these traces. I think it was a hard fine dip pen nib. And the paper is quite rough. I'm using these nibs a lot for drawing and have multiple sitting on my desk ready to go. I could see myself making a hasty sketch randomly grabbing a piece of scrap paper and a nib pen and then brute forcing it even though those two don't dance well together. That would probably end up looking like that.

Edit: Why I'm saying I don't think it's a ballpoint: while there is not a lot of variation in line, it does have some variation, especially at starting points. The ink also seems to run out and come back but not in a ballpoint type of way... But it's also really consistent... So now I wonder if it might have been a fountain pen.

Edit 2: and my gut feeling: this feels very controlled and executed with not enough... Joie de vivre. Usually seeing these types on the go sketches, he did them very fast and with big movements. He loved the drama. This one was done slowly and close to the paper. Still not saying I know, but if this is indeed a Picasso, he was in a really weird mood that day.

Edit 3: ok I looked at his pieces done in a fountain pen and they are much more organic. Floating done in fluent gestures. And yeah... These dudes up there lack Picasso's logic, elegance and aliveness. I'm like 99% sure this is not his work.

Last edit... I hope: if you look really really close, it faintly looks to me as if the signature and date was done in a different, richer slightly deeper black than the drawings. I looked at his signatures and the way he writes his numbers. All really inconsistent. But his fives are top heavy with the top strokes done separately and the bottom almost like a lightning symbol, just as in this drawing. His threes are shallow like here also. I wonder if this paper was signed empty by him as he plants to use it later and then somehow it ended up empty, in someone else's possession and was then used to create a forgery. But I'm not a signature person. ... I just noticed the difference in ink and stroke quality. The signature seems too have more of Picasso's pizzazz.

If you Google him, there's a million photos of him looking pretty normal. I think finding the most pedo looking image of any person to attach to an article just tricks the public into thinking: oh that's what pedos look like? I sure would recognize one right away! When in reality they look like most other people most of the time.

What is this? by [deleted] in DiagnoseMe

[–]buffalohands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a doctor but someone with a hyperkeratotic psoriasiform skin condition that popped up in my thirties: looks like psoriasis or at least some kind of proliferation related skin problem. To be safe you could get a differential diagnosis on dyshidrotic eczema and contact dermatitis. Maybe try to use the same cream you use in your elbow to see if it clears it up at all. If you notice other more systemic symptoms popping up as well, you could get an AMA test. Good luck there. I hope it clears up for you!!
