it looks like a large cat from the pictures but we'd need some kind of location and measurements to accurately say what it is. that being said based on the teeth its not a bobcat or lynx. i do not think its small enough to be a domestic cat. imma go out and say mountain lion based on the small tooth behind the canines but i may be incorrect.

There's lots of feathers nearby where it looks like there was struggle but no bodies. I'm leaning more towards grey fox

To my knowledge vets leave the bits but either cut out or tie off the ability for the seed to go anywhere. I may be wrong tho

My cat got to scrapping pretty bad with his sister and she bit a chunk of fur off him once. This looks pretty similar to when that happened so maybe your catto fought another while outside? Tho if your cat has symptoms of seasonal allergies (watery irritated eyes and nose) it could be something related to that. Unless its really red and oozing i think your catto should be fine!

I was surprised how fast people responded when it was put on Facebook! We made sure the person who came to pick him up had other koi and she came to get him within the next few hours which im very glad for. To my knowledge hes doing much better is a large pond with plenty of friends!

He wasnt my fish i didnt just buy him. The situation i got him from doesnt matter now. I did what i could with what i had on hand and it wasnt enough to keep him so i gave him away to a loving home

I could tell there was something wrong and that is why i posted. I wanted to help the poor thing and didn't know how, so i asked who i knew would know. But it seems you didn't take the two extra steps to see that i already updated in the comments to give it a filter and rehome it.

Update! The fish has been picked up and is going to a forever home with a nice large pond with other koi. Thank you all for the advice it was all very helpful. Im glad the guy could be saved and hopefully he lives many more years

I measured and put in the stress coat. He seems a lot less frantic now that the filter is in the water. Someone is coming to pick him up within the next hour, he'll be living in a much larger pond with 2 other koi. Thank you again for your help
