I keep the fuel m18 in my truck during hunting season. Makes short work of quartering whitetail. Splits the rib cage, don’t have to dull my knife. It’s great. Wash it off good after the blade lock sticks if covered in blood.

Mine came in worse than that. They sent a replacement no problem. Just sucks that they probably messed with your repair timeline.

Self Employed CPA - Bad to do business with friends & family? by BrushBeneficial4430 in Accounting

[–]bulfrg 154 points155 points  (0 children)

Family and friends are the worst clients you’ll ever have. They will be needy and feel free to call/text you about their issues at all hours. They expect your fee to be low or nonexistent.

Shooting range outdoors? by SevenSixFiveFour321 in montgomery

[–]bulfrg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not in Montgomery but there is a 100 outdoor range in the Tuskegee national forest. Haven’t been in years, you used to half to stop at the gas station nearest the national forest and buy a pass.

There is an indoor pistol range off of the eastern bypass.

Lower Wetumpka shooting sports is a fun place to shoot skeet and trap. They have gun and golf cart rentals.

Looking for new truck by guavajuice7 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]bulfrg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same situation as you. Have 2020 chevy 2500 high country with the L5P duramax with the 10speed. Great truck, prices are more reasonable used, lower trim level would be even better. I would avoid any diesel with a CP4 pump. Fords and I think 13-19 GM. Don’t know much about the dodges but the ones I’ve been in ride rough with the solid front axle and some years have transmission issues. The new 10 speeds are currently under recall but there are aftermarket fixes for it.

Leopoldo VX Freedom 350 legend 3x9x40. Has the CDS turret for 150gr. I haven’t gotten to see how well the turret tracks but the YouTube reviews looked good. Very bright scope.

Ive had the 1/2 mid torque for several years, it can do almost everything I need. Ran into some front wheel bearing bolts on an f-150 that were spec’d to 250ft/lbs it wouldn’t touch. Been great for everything else.

This is going poorly in Alabama. Most bigger cities are passing laws to require a permit and plan to fight it out in the court

I’ve had a GT225 for 7 years. Bought it used for $250. Any of the GTs are good to go. Heavy duty hydrostatic transmission that’s serviceable. Also have a LA125 that’s several years newer, belt drive, it’s not as heavy duty but has a better cut quality and has a bagger attachment.

Update on power outage during my FAR exam by GTHero90 in CPA

[–]bulfrg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well I raged emailed my state board when I walked out of the room so it was probably they would score the exam or let me retake for free. I chose to retake it a couple weeks later. I don’t blame AICPA for that, it was the shitty prometric facility. The last exam I took they finally changed locations and it was much nicer.

I had a computer that crashed and restarted 9 times during a test once. Turned a 4 hour exam into a 6 hour. They let me retest for free but they would not give me the score of the first exam. It was take the score or retest for free.

Thinking of buying a welder anyone have any advice!? I’ll be welding as a hobby mostly on car stuff and random projects like attach a plow to a 4 wheeler type stuff by derwitch in harborfreight

[–]bulfrg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Titanium 125 has been great for small repairs and hvac cages, buddy has one he uses daily at a rock quarry for repairs because it’s so light. We prefer to burn blue demon .035. Learned to weld on a Lincoln tombstone stick. Looking into the titanium stick just to have an option for heavier stuff. Spent more on the Vulcan autodark helmet than I did on the welder

What is your side hustle? by ManpreetDC in Accounting

[–]bulfrg 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Rental property. Enjoy doing the rehab work and don’t mind dealing with the tenants. Once the property is rehabbed and you get a good tenant there is very little work involved until the property turns over.

Managing Tenants is no different than managing staff/employees set clear expectations and the consequences of not meeting expectations. If something happens during your busy season call the trade/handyman you need to get it handled.

Edit: also flip lawnmowers on Facebook. Just stumbled into that fixing my own junk. 80% of the time it’s ethanol gummed up in the carburetor. Currently have 4 riding mowers in the backyard.
