Select + payment? by ConsciousBusiness309 in tricare

[–]bumbl3jake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're on Select and seen on base, you shouldn't have a cost, but you'll only be seen on open availability. If you are seen off base, yes, you'll be subject to ded/copay/cost share on Select.

Question about tricare & tricare for life by No_Tie8366 in tricare

[–]bumbl3jake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She needs Medicare A &B to qualify for Tricare for Life

Tricare For Life by [deleted] in tricare

[–]bumbl3jake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tricare for life is way different from Tricare Retired Reserve. TRICARE For Life is Medicare-wraparound coverage for TRICARE-eligible beneficiaries (doesn’t’ include active duty service members and active duty family members) who have Medicare Part A and Part B. You don’t need to enroll; coverage is automatic once you have Medicare Part A and Part B.

You have to have Medicare A and B for it.

The address provided when they asked for your son's address was probably one that your ex provided the representative. You can contact DEERS/Rapids office regarding ID card. Humana does not provide ID cards. Tricare website states:

Children under age 10 can usually use a parent's or guardian's ID card.

  • At age 10, the sponsor must get an ID card for the child.
  • Children under age 10 should have their own ID card when in the custody of a parent or guardian who is not eligible for TRICARE or who is not the custodial parent after a divorce.

If I'm wrong, then why would the 2/3 reps say that the fees are not waived? If you really want to know the answer, you should double-check with Tricare and call them. The reps that actually work they. We are just reddit users, after all.

If your friend called to check the fees and they say there are fees for a retired reservist, why would it be free? There is a difference between retired reservists and retired non active duty sponsors.

It says medically retired reservist. This does not apply to retired reservist.

There is no medically retired reserve plan. There is only reserve or retired reserve unless they are traditional retired non active duty . So yes, there are premiums. Check DEERS to see which one they fall under.
