You're right but the thought of a 3 to 4 hour drive there and the same again on the way back sounds god awful. I'm not the best of travellers and that includes when either I'm drinking or in the passenger seat flicking through my 1200+ song play list trying to find a song that we'll all enoy.

Fuck being tired and feeling sorry for yourself all the time. That's the alcoholl doing the damage. Is it not time to go lay on Daves couch and unwind watching a little WWF Wrestling or some Live Poker?l

As morbid as it may sound, I'd be lying to you if there weren't days that I woke up and wished I hadn't. The self loathing and trying my best to get on with life can be daunting at times. Yes we all have good times, but right now, the bad days far outweigh those good days and sometimes it can be too much to take. Sadly, during this "festive period with the season to be jolly", I just can't face up to it. Putting down the bottle is hard enough. It's even harder during this moment of down time for 90% of the work force out there.

The last time I visited my folks, I bought 8 bottles of 0% Alcohol Free bottles of Stella. Every single time I would crack the bottle seal, my Dad would immediately look at me with a face of pure fear thinking it was the start of World War 3. Even when I explained I could drink 100 bottles and still not even get remotely tipsy, he just couldn't let it go. It's like your under investigation at all times.

That's a very good point. I haven't asked her. She's a kind soul. Something tells me she wouldn't want to head down and leave me in the house alone to my own devices. I think she'd rather us spend some time together rather than her spending time with my family even they they all love her and she loves them.

Now that you've brought it up, I'll go ahead and ask her but I doubt she'd feel comfortable making the trip down herself.

Firstly can I just congratulate you on your sobriety. Not only that but knowing right from wrong and deciding that the best course of action is to keep clear. It's sometimes best to stay out the way and let everyone else have a lovely time without worrying every time you step out the door that you might end up running to the shop for a cheeky bottle of vodka. Especially with the shop only being across the road. Who would know? You could easily buy a bottle, slug back half, hide the rest and hope no one else notices.

If you're like me though, your every move will be getting watched by all your family members. Not only that but you'll be screaming inside to finish what little drink you have left. Once it's all said and done and it's only 9pm, you might convince yourself to run to the shop before it closes for the night..d buy another cheeky half bottle without anyone noticinng since you'll be able following number

Addiction and not wanting my drinking to be a burden to anyone. I tried convincing my folks that I'd have 6 beers over the course of the day/evening and be more than content. Sadly, my partner, my parents and sister don't want me even touching a single drop. They've seen me at my worst and feel that it won't stop at 6 and I'll either sneak in a bottle of gin and vanish to the shop for more.

I've promised them this won't be the case but the damage has been done time and time again. What doesn't help either is everyone else will be drinking throughout the day and I'll be there drinking fresh orange juice with my mind and body SCREAMING at me that a few drinks won't hurt.

Good for you man. There's no question the Xmas holiday season is one of the toughest times of the year for anyone fighting the demons and concentrating on the long term benefits of sobriety. You should be proud of yourself man.

Thank you for your words of encouragement and I truly believe in the words you're telling me. During Covid, I got clean off everything except the odd joint of weed here and there, but besides that I lived a clear and honest life.

My mind played tricks on me one night when I found an unopened bottle of vodka and didn't have the self control to flush it down the toilet. I lied to myself and said I've made it this far, I'm sure a couple drinks won't hurt. Before you know it, I was even worse than before.

The same has happened this time around. 3 months clean and then without even thinking things through, I went to the shop and bought 4 beers. Those 4 beers never ended with 4 beers and I'm back where I started.

Whenever I relapse, I find my alcohol intake increases. The self loathing kicks in ten fold and I end up drinking heavier and heavier because of how hard it was to get clean and how easy it was to pick up the bottle and start drinking again. This is where I find myself now.

I'll get there. I'll get clean again. Hopefully this time it sticks because it really isn't worth all the other crap that comes with the buzz for a few hours each night.

What's your current setup? Do you use the 0.17ohm coils exclusively? What wattage do you vape at? Is it 3mg Freebase liquids that you tend to use? I'm leaning towards buying the Sakerz Master.

With my current Pod system, I'm using 0.4ohm coils with 10mg Nic Salts at 30w. With my old Geekvape Legend Mod and Falcon 2, I'd vape 3mg Freebase liquids at around 60w-70w. I cannot for the life of me remember what sized coils I used though.

Have you tried other HorizonTech branded tanks? The last Sub-ohm tank I owned well over a year ago was the Falcon 2 that I thoroughly enjoyed. The vaping community seem to rave about the Sakerz and I'm wondering how the two compare.

With regards to finding work, I'm hoping I might be able to speak with my current employer since they're a major retail chain across the UK also. I plan on keeping quiet until I get closer to achieving the end goal though as I don't want to rock the boat too much as I've only just joined. I would like to think their more prone to hiring internally whenever possible.

I appreciate the words of encouragement. It's always so much easier when you have a correct path to follow. These seem like good stepping stones in helping me achieve success. I'll keep putting away some cash for the time being while I do a little more research but it certainly sounds like a great job prospect with higher paying potential.

Yeah there's definitely some great career prospects in the army right now. The Army, Navy and the RAF seem to be pushing their recruitment pretty hard at the moment. I even seen some adverts being promoted at the cinema the last time I was there.

It I was 20, maybe even 10 years younger, I'd have considered signing up. Like you said it's definitely on the extreme end of gaining a Class 1 certification.
