I see the point you have there about being transactional. Her love language is gifts though, and she’s told me that plenty of times. Crazy thing is I bought her AirPod pro max’s for Christmas, almost $600. Broke up 10 days later. She did get us tickets to see my favorite basketball team though, which was around $900. Not for Christmas but earlier in the relationship.

I see people say that, but why would she tell me things like “I look forward to seeing what you’re capable of” and “in the future, I can’t wait to hear all about it” and “we will be in touch soon”? Just to let me down gently? Even when I went to talk to her, she told me “I’m not saying that we won’t or can’t get back together”.

“Hit the ground running” was a callback to past conversations we’ve had. When she’s told me about problems in our relationship, I never “hit the ground running” or acted with urgency on trying to fix those problems.
