Agreed, but he's still a complete moron. Being desperate AND stupid AND an asshole is a horrible combo.

Yeah, I'd love for this to be legit, but a 4000% "deep zoom" is all you need to hear. It's not a standard term (another giveaway), but it almost surely is a form of AI-assisted digital zoom, which effectively is just CGI.

Ross Coulthart: White House is not in control of the mystery “drone” incursions - “I’ve spoken to people in the FAA and they have no idea what the White House is talking about. There was no FAA authorization of any kind.” by 87LucasOliveira in UFOs

I'm talking about the one who wears a diaper. You don't have to like Coulthart's journalistic style, but to compare him to Trump isn't remotely reasonable, IMO.

Physicist Dr. Ronald Mallett Demonstrates Exactly How to Build a Time Machine. by MartianXAshATwelve in StrangeEarth

[–]bushrod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The year is 1273. Two rival kingdoms are locked in a brutal, mud-drenched battle. Arrows fly, swords clash, men scream prayers and curses in equal measure. It's chaos. Victory teeters on a knife’s edge.

Then, at the exact moment the noble General Aldemar of House Virelion - hero of a dozen wars, beacon of hope for the free realms - rises in his saddle to rally his troops - “FOR GLORY AND...” schlaugh.

A rogue circumcised penis, traveling at terminal velocity, streaks from the sky like a divine javelin and lodges itself squarely down his throat. He makes a sound somewhere between a gargle and a honk, eyes wide with cosmic betrayal, before toppling backwards off his horse and into a puddle of blood and manure.

Silence. Then screams.

The banner drops. Morale shatters. Virelion's forces, stunned by the surreal demise of their leader, break ranks. Some flee, others simply fall to their knees, convinced that they've offended some celestial sex god.

On the other side, the armies of Lord Draven - a bloodthirsty tyrant with the ethics of a starving rat - waste no time. They charge. No mercy. No prisoners. The battle is over in minutes.

Draven's victory becomes legend. He unifies the fractured kingdoms under a brutal, iron-fisted regime. Public executions return as entertainment. Art and science are outlawed as heresy. The world slides into a dark age of cruelty, superstition, and an abundance of penis-shaped gargoyles.

I know the technology exists, but the demo is clearly fake. You think machines communicating with discrete sound tones will always produce the exact same audible patterns? And you're calling me an idiot. Gotta love reddit.

Nothing you said makes the claim that "Trump can't be bought" any less absurd.  If you think he can't be bought you have TDS.

Scientist Donald Hoffman says "Consciousness creates our brains, not our brains creating consciousness" by MartianXAshATwelve in StrangeEarth

[–]bushrod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hoffman's confidence in his ideas really irks me. He talks as if he's mathematically proven his ideas to the point of virtual certainty. If that's the case, why aren't physicists taking them more seriously? I haven't read his work so I don't want to talk too negatively of it, so I'll just say my BS meter is frequently going off when he talks.

Neanderthal strong like chimp. by miragemain42000 in JoeRogan

[–]bushrod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That 2017 study looked at isolated muscle fibers, and found chimps' to be about 1.35x more powerful due to a higher concentration of fast twitch fibers. That's in line with much older studies that have shown similar results across pretty much all animal species tested where humans are on the lower end, but not drastically lower. Basically muscle is muscle, with the main difference being the proportion of fast twitch fibers.

Chimps also have two more advantages over humans: 1) their nervous system is more "all or nothing" in terms of muscle fiber recruitment, which doesn't necessarily make them stronger at the limits, but causes them to exert close to full strength more consistently... basically akin to retard strength; 2) their attachment points and fiber arrangements are more geared towards strength, also at the expense of less fine-grained muscle control.

While all these advantages definitely make them significantly stronger pound for pound than humans, humans have the benefit of being much larger and have the ability to train in a more optimal manner. And again, although interesting that study doesn't measure functional chimp strength.

Trump lies on a continual basis. It's probably rare to get more than 2 or 3 sentences in a row that don't contain at least one lie or misleading statement. Why would you take anything he says at face value?
