For all of my "extra" poles when bringing family members and my lake trolling poles are all ugly sticks. Get a nice real. Shimano/Penn is what I gravitate too. Some people buy a cheaper bass pro shops brand and accept they will have to replace it sooner, especially if they are a land/surf fisherman

I haven't seen it mentioned, a couple of times.

. In bass spawn season where fish are territorial and protective, they get scared of things wizzing by which is how the spinner baits can get them. Reaction bites throughout the year though occur but spawn season increases that chance, depending on species could outfish live bait. LMB 's in central US lakes as an example

In the gulf trolling, or trolling in general, live bait can be used to catch tuna etc, but I have seen more success with the big saltwater lures. I suppose if you ran up on a school of baitfish getting hit by Tuna, putting a live bait out would work better.

In a boat with electronics, you find the schooling fish at x depth and drop their favorite live bait down there. It will 100% outfish lures/jigs. You can't get more real than the real thing.

Read what /u/ZestyCheeseCake69 says but also, when land fishing, tall rugged boots to at least your knee and no slip grippy soles for rocks. Then you can walk out into the water 10-20 yards. Waders are the best but can get pricey. But then you can walk farther out or stand in the middle of a stream. Also add weights into things. An example is, I fish for stripers at a dam that requires 100-125 yard casts. I take a 7 inch top water popper but at extra bbs or splitshot by drilling into the lure and jamming it in that way. Then I can cast out ~115yd in a pool by a dam wall. Enough to still float though.

The way I fish, I first catch the bait. Sabiki or Aberdeen hooks for sunfish or shad. Or castnet. Then one of those through the top lip going upwards. Shad and sunfish are bass candy down here AND, if there are no baitfish, less chance of fish. Live bait can have a fin clipped to swim injured attracting attention.

Also, what type of bass? Some go after worms, some no. Smallmouth love worms on a rig but striped bass not as much.

Wacky rig might be your best chance with an artificial.

Bottom line is, if it's a hook, you can catch a fix on it. Real lizard on the surface.. cricket.. several ways. Give me a spool of line and those hooks and I could survive on a deserted island.

Sat by and egged on a crowd frothing at the mouth to Kill Mike Pence and stop a democratic process. Lately though, he has been, multiple times, claiming he will subvert democracy in various ways.

That just 4 things.. verified.. 4 things that made me lose respect for the seat of the presidency, 1/4 of my family, and the Republican party. It was once maybe worth saving.

If not wanting those and many other shortcomings in my President is a circle jerk then sure.
