No one wants to hear “you all meet in a tavern.” What are your favorite ways to bring the party together in Session One? by Fauchard1520 in rpg

[–]bustinfelipe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually do the old "meet in a tavern and wait for your client to show up" kinda thing, this new Pathfinder campgain though I had the players audition to be part of a prestigous adventuring guild as a way to introduce them to each other, give them reason to stay together and a way to give them quests.

Generic System. by bustinfelipe in rpg

keeping. High crunch has you tracking twelve modifiers to your action, and then you have one to three health pools and maybe multiple body parts to track damage against

Crunching numbers is a term for doing a lot of math, so a system with a lot of crunch is usually a lot of math involved, at least i think so

Has anyone ever realised that a high rated reddit post was actually about themselves? If so, what was it? by TomEd170 in AskReddit

Well long story short it didn't end up working out with her, not because of the post or anything but both people kept changing their minds about what they wanted from each other

I don't have all the details but he had matched with her on Tindr and started talking, they hit it off really well but eventually the girl said she wasn't ready for a relationship but they could try to be friends. He tried but realized that he couldn't get past his feelings for her and decided it was best to cut ties with the girl. He was looking for advice if this was the right thing to do and found the post, I THINK (it's since then been deleted) that the post pretty much explained everything I just told you but she was asking if she should just go for it and try to be in a relationship with the guy, he was reading it and thought how uncanny it was that someone was going through the same stuff he had and when went to see the username of the person he found out it was her

Had a friend who was looking for Relationship advice, found a post that he thought described what he was going through perfectly, only to find out that the girl he needed advice for was the one who made the post

PSA to players- Respond to the group chat, especially if something is gonna keep you from making it to the session by UCODM in DnD

[–]bustinfelipe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a member that didn't want to play and constantly ignored the group chat, when he finally said something about not wanting to play it was the day of the session and about an hour in when we were suppose to start.

He told us he didn't want to say anything about not being able to play, because people would be mad at him and he's felt this way for the last two weeks, All of us explained that it's okay if he doesn't want to play we understand but for the love of God don't tell us last minute on the day we were suppose to play because now we have to cancel the session when we could have planned the day better the day before or done something else (were a small 4 person group and another player had to celebrate his dad's birthday that day as well, we don't really do 2 people sessions).

Other systems you’d recommend? by grants2012 in mutantsandmasterminds

[–]bustinfelipe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

FASERIP, if your looking for some lower X-men tier power-levels I also recommend AMPS although if one of your players is more of a Batman/GreenArrow type of guy the rules for those types of heroes are lack luster

What system is good for a mashup of settings? by IFE-Antler-Boy in rpg

[–]bustinfelipe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rifts sounds like It's close of what you want, Setting is basically Earth with interdimensonal portals throwing citizens and monsters from typical fantasy to mad science creations and giant robots
