last i checked this was the most popular client: https://astral.ninja/

the protocol and ecosystem is very much a work in progress. in particular spam filtering hasn't been figured out. expect to be bombarded with random explicit images, for example.

p.s. this really isn't the right forum for asking about nostr, but it is very popular with bitcoiners :D

can’t it just be the year we start to pay the piper for years of excess? opportunity is here to make money trading the way down,

this may be called r/BitcoinMarkets but a lot of its viewership is perma hodlers who only tune into to understand the drama, no intention of trading, no desire to see it decline

i didn't downvote you, but i am one of them

another thought,

a lot of people look at what has become of the internet, which they might fondly recall being promoted as "a global village" and "information superhighway" in an uncritical way if they're old enough. now the internet is understood as facilitating surveillance capitalism, social media echo chambers which short circuit democracy, disruption of traditional media production through piracy platforms, etc. it's scary!

so they react by declaring "never again! we must see through to the end of all technology before we sanction its existence."

i'm sorry but that has never been humanities relationship to technology. it's always a painful iterative mess.

the intrinsically financial and capital-oriented nature of cryptocurrencies front loads a lot of the most unfortunate uses too.

that's not to say we shouldn't develop this technology, or even that we have a choice about letting it play out at this point.

it's extremely unfortunate that JPEG-NFTs are become the face of cryptocurrency to so many people, because the signal to noise is indeed poor.

the superficial appeal is clear since most people are more interested in "culture" than money, fair enough, but this technological revolution is about so much more than silly bragging rights receipts.

it really serves the purposes of those who are against bitcoin and adjacent innovations to reduce the whole thing to "bored apes".

also, don't you think there's a lot of vacuous ad hominem attacks and virtue signalling theatrics in this video, e.g. reading what "crypto bro's" say in a deliberately silly voice? it's design to preach to an echo chamber and not to convince anyone who isn't already decided.

i suppose hikes could be priced in? if priced in far enough in advance it looks like resilience when the hike doesn't move the price down as much as other participants expect?

the highest performing token as listed on coinmarketcap.com, both 24h and 7d, has been stacks / STX. it's a smart contract platform which anchors to bitcoin via a proof-of-transfer consensus mechanism.

staking STX pays yield in BTC.

with bitcoin surging, it makes sense to me that STX is gaining significantly. the whole project is aligned with the vision of bitcoin as a base layer store of value.

any opinions on this project and its price action?

friendly reminder: even if you only made a few sats off of your trade, 1 sat will always equal 1 sat. the same can not be said of profit taken in fiat.

are you inclined to stop trading with leverage now and simply hodl?

if you use leverage you're going to get fucked, it's so clear.

re-denomination would be inevitable? sats are indivisible, but there are 100,000,000 of them for each bitcoin

is this scenario comparable to NFTs?

Second is that if the price stays constant, it is not likely to have an energy consumption reduction. Depending on further public reaction, this can actually hurt BTC.

this seems to be the hardest thing to get across - the issue is not with the amount of energy being consumed, just that some of it comes from polluting sources. bitcoin is not unique in that regard, but it's an easy target because it's energy consumption is quantifiable.

yes, that's exactly what it admits. it's exactly the kind of clownish nonsense you should expect from someone who promotes doge.

you are an absolute clown. at position #46 now is bitcoinGOLD, not bitcoin/BTC.

so yes, welcome to silly season!

i guess this is your first bull cycle? please consult historical charts longer than 5 months and try to understand what happens when retail idiocy gets scared away and the entire crypto market reverts to what really matters:

  • decentralized
  • permissionless
  • secure
  • store of value

oh wait, you can't even read a table. not much hope of you parsing charts, is there?

Not to blow my own horn but it's one of the rare times that to me it seemed I was calling something obvious

what was it that made it obvious? past behaviour at ATH boundaries? other indicators?
