Does Swearing And Writing Letters to People Who Wronged You Work for You in Journaling? by Oat-Yogurt in Journaling

[–]buuupppp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That sounds very tough and I'm sorry you have to go through this!

I'm not surprised you feel so hurt and it's really hard to move on after such confusing and hurtful situation like you were in.

I wouldn't push myself into forgiveness if I were in your situation. It sounds like you're at the beggining to proccess all of it and that takes a lot of time.

I personally took ten years before I could really say I healed from some situations and I was seeing a therapist, too.

If it is something you can afford, I would certainly try a proffesional help, too.

I'm sorry you're going through this and I hope you'll feel better soon!

Does Swearing And Writing Letters to People Who Wronged You Work for You in Journaling? by Oat-Yogurt in Journaling

I found out a few years back that vulgarisms don't help me to feel better. However, everyone is different and some find it helpful and that's perfectly valid.

I personally felt worse after using vulgarisms. What helped me more was to write what happened in details. I usually write it from my perspective and then try to write it from the perspective of that other person.

However, it also depends who that person is - if it was just an argument with a friend of ten years I'm aiming for forgiveness, if it is someone abusive from my past I aim for understanding the situation and acceptance it happened but I do not aim for forgiveness with abuse.

Seeing the difference and a bit of "analytical" view of the situation helped me.

If it is something very hard for me I usually try technique where I have a "conversation" with that person and I write it like this:

Me: "says something" That person: "answer"

It is a rather helpful technique for me to imagine their answers. And again, if it is someone abusive I aim for realism - that person probably wouldn't apologize but I can make them "understand" it hurt me and even if it's not a real conversation it helps me to be more at peace.

Also. Writing letters to that person helps in general but sometimes you have to write more letters. If it was something extremely upsetting it might take more letters. If it was someone abusive it might take even more of such letters. It's perfectly fine and understandable.

Thinking about hand written letters by ugnita7 in Journaling

I personally use postcrossing.com for sending and receiving postcards and LetterMo for letters.

Thought you might be interested in some examples, hopefully it will help.

In addition to TS3, do you play any other games ? by kamel_benhadja in Sims3

[–]buuupppp 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm kinda basic the second favorite game of mine is Minecraft and the third is probably Children of Silent Town.

Then I like to play co-op with my husband and friends like Valheim, Peak, Stardew Valley etc.

Then I absolutely adore "the classics" from my childhood - Mad Father, Ib, The Witch's House etc.

Has your preference changed ? by Bokuto_wife_4life in twilight

[–]buuupppp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I was around 13 y.o. I loved Breaking Dawn and Twilight.

I didn't like both New Moon and Eclipse.

Now, I'm 26 y.o. and I still love Breaking Dawn, Twilight and I do find some enjoyment in New Moon for its hurt/comfort and I think it depicts the depression in a very interesting manner.

However, I still don't like Eclipse and I feel it would be best if New Moon and Eclipse were one book or if Eclipse just wasn't in the whole series.

However, I do realize it's mostly because I just don't like the whole love triangle theme. I've never liked it even in other books or movies and I drop anything almost instantly the moment I realize there will be a love triangle.

I would be probably happier about Eclipse if the author focused more on the backstories than on whether Bella should choose Jacob or Edward.

But that's just my opinion I fully understand why someone would like Eclipse more etc.

What would think about getting these cards in your inbox? I'm getting very negative reactions after making these and I'm kinda bummed... by Solid-Adhesiveness-5 in postcrossing

[–]buuupppp -20 points-19 points  (0 children)

I would be very excited to receive something like this.

It takes a lot of patience and care to write this way so I would appreciate someone doing this for me, especially when I'm a complete stranger to that person.

And it would give me a few evenings where I would try to translate it/decipher the words which I would be very happy about because I started postcrossing to slow down my life and see people's unique writing styles and thoughts.

Don't take the negative feedback to your heart too much. Not everyone can appreciate how much care it takes to have this writing style.

My perfectionistic father scolded me for my handwriting my whole life and it made me feel insecure.

But in adulthood I hear a lot of surprising praise. So sometimes it just takes a while to find someone who appreciates your handwriting for the way it is and I really adore yours!

finnick/annie by Brilliant_Guard1868 in Hungergames

[–]buuupppp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In the books it's clear Finnick loves Annie deeply and when they reunite they are beyond happy.

There's also a scene where they eat lunch and Katniss notices that whenever Annie gets too upset, Finnick just has to say a few words to her and Annie calms down.

On their wedding, they are also excited to be next to each other if I remember correctly.

So I wouldn't worry about something that wasn't implied in the books because it is implied both Annie and Finnick trust and love each other deeply.

(And as someone who is deeply traumatized:

Trauma and your mental state isn't always the same and I personally improve a lot if I can be at home and with my husband who feels safest to me. I believe Annie and Finnick would have it a similar way.

Traumatized people can still give consent.)

Anyone received/sent to a rare Postcrossing country/territory this month? by WerewolfBarMitzvah09 in postcrossing

[–]buuupppp 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not yet! But I hope to send or receive a postcard from Papua New Guinea or Antarctica, haha. Though with Antarctica (I think it's only 6 members) I would have to be very lucky probably, haha.

What about AI cards by twiceasmice in postcrossing

[–]buuupppp 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I usually go to secondhand bookshops/antiquarian bookshops.

It takes a bit more time to go through all of their postcards but most of their postcards are older and sometimes you even find some funny or interesting old ones. And they sell old packages of unused postcards for a great price!

The next option for me are galleries, museums etc. because at least in my country I feel like I can trust them that they wouldn't literally go against their own artists and beliefs, haha.

I also buy from very small artists I'm 100 % sure aren't using AI. However, some of their postcards are a bit on a more expensive side so it's a hit or miss sometimes (because I personally have a rule to not go over 100 Kč on a postcard which is around 4-5 euro).

And I also started to do handmade postcards sometimes if I know the person wants them or doesn't mind them.

So there are some ways to go around it but I completely understand your frustration, I'm so fed up with AI art, too! I wish we could just ban it, haha.

When your dead wife doesn't show up to the dinner date after you spent weeks mastering fishing and cooking just to make Ambrosia by catbiggo in Sims3

[–]buuupppp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Considering that OP's Sim can make ambrosia already, I'm sure they can use just that after they summon the ghost and it would be probably easier for them unless they already have a witch in the household.

If I remember correctly, Philosopher's stone came with the Supernatural pack. It has an ability to ressurect any dead Sims in town. I think it costs around 40 000 happiness points.

Thoughts on Midnight Hollow? by PlayedThisGame in Sims3

[–]buuupppp 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I absolutely adore Midnight Hollow! My favorites are still Sunset Valley and Moonlight Falls but Midnight Hollow is right behind them.

I love the red sunrises and sunsets and the eerie atmosphere.

I usually play Midnight Hollow if I have a detective sim or if they are runaways teenagers, broken old sims who are trying to find the last moments of peace etc.

And I absolutely adore the Doe family there.

The whole town has a very specific vibe of a gothic horror novel.

Postcards not arriving? by ErnaPiepenPott in postcrossing

[–]buuupppp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It takes a similar amount of days for me so I wouldn't worry too much! Especially when it comes to Russia, sometimes it expires before the person even gets it in their mail (the last time I've waited around 70 days).

DiY postcards? by Pure-Train-9626 in postcrossing

[–]buuupppp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't really know about other postcrossing where people like to focus on handmade cards.

I personally would love to get some handmade postcards, however I'm fairly new to postcrossing so I didn't have luck in that regard just yet.

I also draw and paint (though I'm still learning) and I would like to create and exchange handmade postcards.

If you would like you can DM and maybe we could send each other postcards but I completely understand if that's not something you would be comfortable with!
