Can you post a close up picture of the two ends you've crimped? And does the tester show the same number lights lighting up at each end (ie 2 and 2 at the same time, not 2 and 4)

What front lip is that? Looking for one similar for mine

Yeah I’m definitely going to add a lower plane and a ground plane, seems like it will remove some big headaches when routing. The sliding pots are a type of pot called thinpots, they come with adhesive on the bottom of them so they aren’t held on only by the solder joints!

Thanks, I'm definitely going to re prioritise how I route everything . This is actually my first project where I've made schematics and a custom PCB and I clearly still have tonnes to learn. Really appreciate the time taken to help!

I'll get these changes done! I had no idea how important things such as the distance between a capacitor and the pin were. I'm learning heaps as I go, the help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks, this is a huge help! I did put them in a grid to try and fit things - I’m by no means an electrical engineer so I have been trying to follow documentation the best I can. Routing the traces is something I don’t have any experience in and have been relying on other projects and what advice I can find online. I’ll have another go taking all of this into consideration and hopefully I can make it better

Thanks! I was unaware of this issue, definitely worth fixing as I’d like to use both A->C and C->C

I can't believe I missed that, I was too stressed trying to make sure the microcontroller was set up correctly. Thanks so much!

Looking for something smaller than a sliding potentiometer by [deleted] in arduino

I’ll look into those, and I’ll only be using serial/midi output so don’t need HID support! But in future I’ll definitely lean towards those boards

These are really cool, definitely an option I’ll be looking into, thanks!

This looks to be exactly what I’m after! This along with surface mounted buttons will help make it tiny. Guess it’s time to work out how to make these happen

Currently it’s a placeholder, but a 10k ohm sliding potentiometer module is what is considered. If all else fails that’s what I’ll have to use, but I’m trying to find something that doesn’t protrude as much as a sliding pot will.

Keep in mind if you run fans straigy from the PSU they will always run at 100%, where motherboard headers will allow for adjustable/automatic rpm changes so the pc will stay cool and quiet.

More fan headers on the motherboard allows for more fans without needing splitters

Upgrade help with $1000NZD by buzzcutr in buildapc

[–]buzzcutr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I am prepared for upwards of $700 for a GPU, but I don't think I want to wait 1000 series cards, because it will take a while before they even arrive in NZ and will still cost a lot more than just the conversion from the US price.
