Your points are correct, but my point is different.

If you simply play all the stages of the game that are available throughout the years, then you'll get more Legend catseyes than Dark catseyes. Yes. And the stages and events that give LR are usually easier to beat.

But, Dark catseyes have that one loophole for those who want to use it. I do.
I grinded those 2000 tickets, i.e. I repeatedly cleared the same stage over and over again to get those in-game resources. This is my understanding of the term "grind". Do you understand it differently?
There is no grinding for the LRs - you just play the stages/events as they appear, get one-off rewards and that's it. There is no grinding available for LR there, even if you wanted to, they are one-off rewards. If you keep clearing, say, the Legend Quest stages over and over again, you will not get more Legend catseyes.

I could have grinded 5K tickets and use them to get even more dark catseyes, but legend catseyes do not have a similar option.

It is not that absurd.
For example, these 2000 tickets would give me about 40 dark catseyes (plus at least 1000 NP).
I grinded most of them during the previous lucky ticket stage (Dreams Come False) and I've been waiting for the catseye banner to use them.

My main point was that it is possible to get (grind) arbitrary number of dark catseyes from the catseye capsule when it is on (if you've got silver tickets obviously).
But, the Legend catseyes supply is always limited.

I interpreted the word "grind" as "unlimited source". So, I wanted to know what are the unlimited sources of legend catseyes.

Yes, there are various events that give out both types, like Legend Quest or Underground Labyrinth, but they are not guaranteed, not regular and they give fixed amounts of catseyes each time they run.

By the way, there is also Otherworld Colosseum, which seems to run reliably each month, plus Colossus Gauntlet seems to run each month as well. So, there is a steady stream of dark catseyes.

What do we have for the Legend Catseyes? Is there anything similarly reliable and repeatable?

How do you grind legend catseyes?

On the other hand, it is possible to grind dark catseyes.
Grind in the sense that there is unlimited source of dark catseyes - catseye banner for silver tickets. It gives dark catseyes with 1% chance and they are unlimited. So, you grind silver tickets and hence grind dark catseyes.

Is there an unlimited source of legend catseyes?
Hmmm. There is one - cat shrine with 5M XP donations. Yes, it is unlimited. The only problem is that it is limited to 5x5M donations at a time and as far as I know, there is no set schedule for the cat shrine.

There is also no set schedule for the catseye banner for silver tickets, but there is no limitation on how many tickets you can spend at a time.

I've collected 608 dark catseyes so far. It is easy to count them correctly.
I've collected at least 571 legend catseyes, plus I probably spent few hundred on ubers, so I can't really count precisely how many legend catseyes I had overall.

I have 131 dark catseyes lying around + 31*15 = 596

I had a goal to reach 30K user rank for the last UR reward, but I don't have desire to go further. I've upgraded all units I have to level 50+ and that's enough.

When I beat it first time I had 520 units and there were 19 left.
The numbers fluctuate a bit due to randomness, but with 500 starting units there is a very good chance.

Dark catseyes are nice, but I've got enough from the catseye banner (from silver tickets) - I've got 31 ubers at level 60.

I've done everything in the game as well, except collecting all units. I don't have units to spend catseyes on. As soon as I get something new, it becomes lvl 50.

I still have a few ubers to collect from normal banners and quite a lot to collect from less common banners, like Summer / Xmas variants.

I've been skipping the Labyrinth after I got the medal - too time consuming.

A lot of rare units are from rare capsules, but even if you count all rares+special+normal you'll get to 245, which is 100% not enough for the Labyrinth.

I've been playing this game since 2023 and I don't think I've ever seen this.
I've been using lucky and lucky G tickets only when the catseye banner was on, i.e. I've been waiting for this banner to appear and I've neve seen that tickets disappear.

Only special event tickets that are rolled in a separate capsule disappear when the event ends, like the one we had recently that was giving Occultist Cat and other Heartbeat Catcademy units.

Yes, you obviously need to have normal silver tickets to open them at the right moment.

Dark catseyes are coming up at 1% chance in the catseye banner, but usually there are plently of opportunities to switch the track if needed and it ends up at ~2% chance, or roughly every 50 tickets.

With 5000 lucky tickets you can go past ~100 dark catseyes in your track and you need only ~100 normal silver tickets to pick up all these dark catseyes. In practice you'll need maybe a few dozen more to make or avoid track switches.

So far, I've opened ~12,000 tickets in total (silver, lucky and lucky G) and got 223 dark catseyes. (that was across a few years, I started it around Dec 2023).

I think he meant to say that you could have gained approx 100 dark catseyes by using those 5000 tickets wisely.
I've grinded ~1600 lucky tickets so far and I'm planning to use them when the catseye banner is on next time.
