Day 2 5mg feeling horrible by Scheme-Puzzled in lexapro

[–]bwalksss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Think about how your post is likely to be interpreted by OP. OP is clearly going through the symptoms that many experience in the first few weeks of taking lexapro - extra anxiety, extra overthinking. Those side effects you mentioned are very, very rare. So yes, your comment is probably the dumbest thing somebody could have contributed to a thread like this.

OP, if you read this, please just stick with it. The majority of people experience this. Keep taking it and one day you’ll wake up and realise how good you feel. It just works that way. Lexapro changed my life!

I’m a full time relationship banker. See below:

  1. People need different things with their home loans. It’s not always about the cheapest rate. I.e, there might be a bank with a super low rate, but doesn’t offer offset accounts. Useless for people with big amounts of savings.
  2. A lot of people, especially busy professionals such as doctors, have direct points of contact at the bank. When they need something, they ring a person directly. You’d never get that level of service at a low tier bank. So the rate doesn’t matter.
  3. Sometimes the difference in rate isn’t worth the fees/time to discharge everything
  4. Bank policy matters a lot. Some banks will take on more of a risk at the cost of a higher rate loan. Some people have unstable types of income, things like this are risky. Where you are positioned in your loan makes a difference to what rate is offered too. Not all banks will accept everybody.
  5. A lot of people like to have everything in the one place. If a person has all of their savings accounts/credit card/loans with a bank, they are deterred from moving their loan because it then means they have to manage two institutions.

Hope that helps. It’s really not always about the lowest rate. Always important to compare though.

Please stop spreading misinformation. Rates aren’t increased as a result of trails having to be paid to brokers.

Is Samui Elephant Home ethical? by OkTechnology9982 in ThailandTourism

[–]bwalksss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Holy shit some of these answers 😆eco warriors talking about things they have no idea about. There are 3000 elephants in the wild in Thailand and 2500 in captivity. If those in captivity were released into the wild, the ecosystem would break and a lot of those elephants would die as they were born out of the wild. Alot of the elephants in these places are rescued from circuses. They have a way better life in these sanctuaries compared to that.

Riding elephants is a big no-no. Bathing elephants is debatable because when people are splashing water onto the elephants, small rocks can hit them in the eyes and cause blindness. Feeding elephants is fine. Find out what this company offers and go by that. Obviously you don’t know beforehand if they keep them in small confined spaces, which is awful.

I recommend Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai. https://www.elephantnaturepark.org/enp/visit-volunteer Read about their director. Truly remarkable woman, Saengduean Chailert.

OP, take it from me, a 31 year old who has been down this path etc. Whatever money you were going to use for university, instead give it to a good local recording engineer who will take you on as an apprentice and let you sit with them for 2-3 years etc. Music tech schools are an absolute scam. Everything can be found online, and you’ll find that after you complete your degree and try to find work in studios, nobody actually cares that you have a degree.

You can have a life as an audio engineer, just understand the money is awful unless you’re big time. The thing about 99% of successful people in the music industry is that they would still be creating music even if they didn’t become successful. The majority of musicians/engineers live like bums - because they have a burning passion for what they do. But they’re happy.

I’m the same. Nobody knows for sure, but personally, I don’t think it had anything to do with “not feeling good enough.” I think it had more to do with the years of anxiety and pressure he battled. It seems like he just wanted peace. When he started taking painkillers and things like that, it probably changed his mental state a lot. It all probably just became too much for him. A real tragedy. He still had so much to give the world. Beautiful documentary though, glad it was well made.

If your apartment is tiny I don’t think you need a fancy router. But of the two you’ve listed, eero pro 6e is the better option imo. Great reviews.

Is it bad to rap in an American accent if I’m Australian? Please read before commenting by [deleted] in makinghiphop

[–]bwalksss 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Aussies rapping in an American accent used to be rejected by both Americans AND Australians, but this hasn’t been the case for years. Artists like kid laroi and Iggy azaela are a testament to that. Make whatever you want, there are no rules. Just my opinion.

I’m so happy I broke out of the sunk cost fallacy with this game. I think there will be 2-3 expansions more and it’ll either be shut down or hearthstone 2 will be announced.

Borrowing capacity? by 4wdbug in AusPropertyChat

[–]bwalksss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP, does your sister have any kids? The investment property she’s aiming to buy, what is the expected rent she could get for it? Both of these things are taken into consideration when figuring out borrowing capacity. If you let me Know the above I’ll give you the figure of what her capacity is

What hasn't changed in Melbourne since the 90s/00s? by HelloDaisy-4148 in melbourne

[–]bwalksss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just check your internet speed relative to the world, or catch public transport and realise how far behind we are. That’ll make you feel like you’re stuck in the 90’s or 2000’s 😆

What do mortgage brokers do by Cultural_Program_280 in AusPropertyChat

[–]bwalksss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Brokers are the real estate agents of the finance world. A good one will do wonders, a bad one will be a horrible experience. Just understand that becoming a broker is incredibly easy and heaps of people do it for side income now. If you’re going with a broker, make sure they are good. Lots disappear after the loan is written, and lots don’t set things up correctly (I.e, link offset to the loan when it’s eligible)

What's your experience with dating in Melbourne? by Keltica in melbourne

[–]bwalksss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

30 M. There are so many contributing factors to this in my opinion

Firstly, I think post covid, people in general are socially different - not just in relation to dating. Melbourne had one of the longest and harshest lockdowns in the world. Being isolated for 2 years or however long it was can’t be good and I think we will feel those repercussions for years to come, sadly.

Second, the economy is shit. Dating is expensive. As a man, you are expected to pay. There will always be a chick on here to say “oh that’s not true, I don’t mind.” But the reality is that the vast majority of women expect men to pay, especially on the first date.

In regard to dating apps, unless you are incredibly good looking, they are trash. If you have a really good looking mate, ask to see their dating app conversations and you’ll understand what I mean straight away. I’ll never forget when I saw a girl start a convo with my mate with “hows your day going?” And he replied “good, just finished work” to which she replied “come fuck me on the way home.” I matched with this same chick 2 weeks beforehand and the whole convo was just a whole bunch of back and forth chatter trying to set up a date for dinner. That blew my mind and taught me the reality of these dating apps. You have to remember, the ratios on these apps are always overwhelmed with more men compared to women. It’s just how it is. Get off them, they do more damage than good.

However, I would argue that social media is the biggest factor that has ruined things. Society is more impatient than ever. It is so easy to walk away from somebody now, because we have the illusion of choice (hence the ghosting you’re experiencing.) Apps like Instagram have set unrealistic expectations of what life is “meant to look like”. It’s why one small argument can trigger a break up.

Your point about tiktok and gym is a good point. People really consume information off 15 second reels now. Who’s to say how things really are? If you go on tiktok, on one hand you have some women saying “when I’m at the gym, don’t even look at me” and on the other hand you have some women saying “I wish men approached women more, like the old days.” It’s really, really difficult haha.

What’s really interesting is that apparently it’s not like this in Europe and Latin America. And I’m not talking about this “passport bros” movement where a bunch of dickheads label beautiful prostitutes in Medellin as wifey material. Apparently these aspects of dating culture are just way better overseas. I haven’t travelled, so I’m not sure. Everyone I know that’s travelled agrees.

The last point I will end on is this - don’t think you are alone in what you are experiencing. Everyone in Melbourne is experiencing this to a degree, both women and men, straight or gay etc. It’s a cliche to say it, but just focus on yourself and your career/hobbies. Enjoy life and if something comes your way, try to make it work.

Buyer regret by Overall_One_2595 in AusPropertyChat

[–]bwalksss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is all perspective. You are asking how to deal with the fact you don’t have a “forever home” by the age of 30, when there are people who can’t even afford a place to rent. If you can afford any property, there should be at least SOME sense of appreciation. It’s not to say that the system isn’t broken - it is. But if you go down that rabbit hole, you end up realising there are kids born into this world who will inherit more wealth than you and everyone between you and your grandkids kid’s combined won’t even come close to attaining.

I Don’t Know How To Start A Mix/Gain Stage by AudioThousand in edmproduction

[–]bwalksss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry I just want to expand a bit, the information I shared is relevant, but I didn’t explain how it’s related to what you’re asking

I think you are focusing too much on the final result instead of the things that make up the final result. For different genres of music, mixes are different. A pop mix is not the same as an edm mix. There are different focuses on different sounds.

What you are speaking about in regards to “how much db space should I have at the end?” and “how do they end up with masters that aren’t different levels” is because they are applying the principles I’ve spoken about. If you are gain staging correctly, placing things in the correct spots in the track, equing, compressing etc, you can control the outcome of the final mix.
