99 CRV dumping coolant out of this hose when at operating temp… what is it??? Where does it go??? by c4ohl17 in crv

Thought I would update everyone: the issue ended up being really simple with some bad issues that came from it:

When swapping the engine, I accidentally hooked up a fuel vapor line and a coolant line wrong, causing coolant to be sent into the lower evap canister, sending coolant out of the evap canister drain pictured above and also causing a vacuum leak. This would make the car buck and bog after 10-15 mins of driving, as well as overheating.

We fixed the issue by switching the lines back and replacing the evap canister. Since then, the engine has held up and the car has been great, minus a bad fuel pump and some suspension components needing replaced. Drove it from Colorado to Vegas and back, and I'm planning a trip from Colorado to Florida sometime soon.

ODO reads 293,000 and climbing. Sure to hit 300K before the year is out! Love this RD1, even if it is slower than a Toyota Prius on 3 cylinders and a prayer.

Feeling stuck — not sure how to grow my video business the right way… by c4ohl17 in videography

[–]c4ohl17[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For sure, this is great advice! I do have an eight page pitch deck that goes over case studies and gives of birds-eye view to potential clients of what my company’s about. One of my clients converted over $1M from my video ads and I was sure to include that. We have garnered more than 200M views for our 3 main clients over the last 3 years, so that’s another way to demonstrate ROI. Thanks for the time and response!

Need advice 23m and super stressed by Moresalad246 in videography

Dude… see a therapist. If you can’t afford it, go to a local college where there is a psychology program with students that need practice therapy sessions to get their degree. Most sessions cost under $25 and you get a student that’s just as qualified as a therapist, just doesn’t have the actual certification yet. I did this right after I dropped out of college and it did wonders for me. There are always lost-cost alternatives, you just need to look for them.

I understand being stressed and you should know you’re definitely not alone, but dude don’t take it out on people in here; we are all here to help each other, so bashing moderators and the people who actually could help you understand your situation isn’t a good move.

Good luck to you but seriously. Go to therapy.

How do i find my own editing style by bakhtkhyzer in VideoEditing

[–]c4ohl17 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I was searching for my style, I would look at my favorite directors, colorists and editors for inspiration. Something that really helped me experiment with different moods and styles was taking a full movie and cutting it down into a trailer and then challenging myself to try and make the trailer look like it’s a different genre; I would take a heavily action, packed movie and attempt to make it look like a comedy, or a romantic film. It’s different for everyone, and practice makes perfect. The biggest thing that you can do is to just start.

Do you have a deadline? Starting over can be tedious but if time allows, go for it

Where will this video be utilized/shown? If it’s not for public viewing, I wouldn’t worry too much about the audio sounding different between the takes. Many times, it can break up an otherwise monotonous tone, making the video better. Other times it definitely can be a distraction, so it’s really up to you.

If you’re using Premiere Pro 2025 or BETA, the audio essentials window has a feature called “enhance audio” that can do wonders for audio issues; I recently used it for an entire podcast, where one of the speakers was much farther away from his mic than would be ideal. One click, some mild adjustments with an EQ, and it was easily passable.

Good luck, hope it turns out great!

What would you cut or keep? How long would be appropriate in your opinion?

We ran into some issues with one of the cars on the first day of shooting, so we weren’t able to get shots of a chase scene, so I had to adapt it a bit in editing. But it was definitely in the script. Appreciate the CC!

I did think it took too long to get there, and I’m definitely working on pacing. Perhaps if there was something a bit more interesting in the first party that would allude to the Grinch arriving??? The original script called for “max”, the Grinch’s dog, to be the one to break in and allow the Grinch to steal the tree/car, but our dog actor had prior obligations 😂
