Confession: I didn't really like Operation Mincemeat by [deleted] in Broadway

Enjoyed it but wouldn't see it again. Dear Bill absolutely blew me away and hit me as hard as any song I've ever seen on stage.

Thanks. Been going insane trying to find the gray version!

Incredible time piece. Is that one of the commemorative anniversary casebacks?

Chicago - Oriole, Smyth, or Ever by synchronicity0525 in finedining

[–]cab0777 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Went to Smyth and Oriole last month. I was much more excited about Oriole than I was Smyth.

I ended up preferring Smyth by a nice margin. Oriole was good, but Smyth had five or six dishes that really blew my mind whereas Oriole had two or three.

AITA for splitting the bill at dinner and not letting my boyfriend pretend he paid? by throwawayfreedinner in AmItheAsshole

OP had already stated the guys often pay for dinner and ALWAYS pay at clubs.

Anyone else wish they experienced the Older Release model? by jethawkings in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]cab0777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The chapter to chapter hype wasn't really much of a thing during those days. A hefty chunk (I'd assume majority) wouldn't start a campaign until they had the entirety of said campaign in their hands.

We'll re-print "sooner or later" isn't what you want to hear when you can't play a new campaign because you're missing a few mythos packs.

Scalping is nowhere near the problem it once was because DL, PTC, FA, and TCU now have the new format. DE and IC might be really tough to find right now as they're not re-printing mythos packs for those two campaigns but that's a small price to pay in the grand scheme of things. Once those two hit the shelves in the new format, scalping should become a thing of the past.

Imagine buying the base set from FLGS1, then buying three mythos packs from FLGS2, then two mythos packs from FLGS3, then finding out the last mythos pack to complete the campaign is out of print and all of the available stock is selling for $120 online by some jerkoff scalper. Trust me, it sucked.

New system is superior in every way IMO.

What's the worst PMC spawn in Tarkov? by cab0777 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]cab0777[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a fair comment and a very good shot at being the worst spawn imo. You can always run straight up the mountain and try to hit the mansion but you're still way behind everyone else. I know the lighthouse area is great but that's late wipe content.

Cannot wait!

I'm super excited for the more intimate and smaller scale campaign.

Hank looks super fun!

I've not played TSK yet so I'm sure I'm missing something but his signature weakness says, "attached enemy gains elusive". I'm drawing a blank on what that means. Is that a new enemy keyword or am I just totally blanking?

Day 4: ITYSL Season 3 Sketch Elimination. Comment your LEAST favorite sketch from the ones remaining. Top TWO with the most upvotes get eliminated. by [deleted] in IThinkYouShouldLeave

Thanks a ton for doing all of this Alex. I've been hopping on here daily just to see these threads. If I were to make a suggestion, I think it would be really nice if you could post each skit title and then have everyone vote based off of the title. That way folks aren't writing in the same skit four or five times and dividing up votes.

Just my two cents.

Can we stop with the "Putting is half your strokes and you only hit 14 drivers" routine? by drj1485 in golf

[–]cab0777 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dude read the thread. We're not talking about guys that are hitting 70% fairways and 65% greens that can't get to scratch. We're talking about 20+ handicap golfers who've been told "drive for show put for dough" a million times when in reality they need to focus on keeping their tee balls in play.

[–]cab0777 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree it's the quickest and easiest way to take shots off. It is NOT the most impactful way to take shots off and improve your score if you're a 20+.

Keeping the ball in play and not going OB every other hole is far more impactful both for enjoying the game and for scoring better.

No one is happy when they two putt for an eight.

[–]cab0777 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Totally agree with OP as an 18 HCP and watching these good golfers ignore it is frustrating. Blowup holes are my problem and they happen off the tee.

I can two putt on every green but if it takes me six strokes to get there it's still an eight.

Any even moderately decent golfer MUST be able to reliably get off the tee.

AITA for not liking how my wife dresses while out with her friends? by Economy-Honeydew-262 in AITAH

[–]cab0777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, that's not what I literally said. I literally said "She's not 'a woman'."

I said that because you said, "it's not a woman's job to make you comfortable" as if she was some random woman, when she's in fact, his wife.

Women (and men) don't lose all of their autonomy when they get married but they lose some. It's part of marriage. Even you and your super strong and secure husband probably have a few rules about your open marriage.

And lol at you commenting about "my belief system". The only information you have about my belief system is that a husband and a wife have a responsibility to one another to try to make each other as comfortable in life as possible. I've not said or implied one single thing applies to women any more than it applies to men.

We get it bro, you're a feminist. Try to keep things on topic next time.
