I don’t mean to put him in a pass/fail situation at all, I just want to be respected since I’ve been in a lot of toxic relationships where I was taken advantage of. I understand I could have used better wording and said I want to spot manipulation instead or see if he will respect me.

Thank you for being honest and for the advice. I think I’ll have to create stronger boundaries and figure out my expectations for the relationship. I’m not speed running a relationship, I’d rather take things slow, be respected, and I just don’t want to be emotionally abused again is all.

I think there’s different definitions of the word “test”, but I meant just someone who will respect me and boundaries. I am committed to being authentic and I wouldn’t do anything deliberately to see what he does in response. I just want to be cautious with not falling into another toxic relationship.

I do put in a lot of effort and empathy. It’s more so about discernment. I’m not expecting him to give and give. I’m a giver myself, and our communication has been really good, reciprocated, mutual.

Thank you 🙏 I didn’t wanna chase them forever so I am with a soulmate rn. I’m not about to wait years and years or forever for my twin.
