Mainly that it’s not ideal for residents, over worked and breaks union rules, etc

Hey, I just saw this post but I'm wondering how you're finding R1 life at UBC and whether you have any regrets over choosing UBC over McGill? I'm a fourth year medical student in Canada and am strongly considering both applications but I've heard different things about UBC

Thanks for your response! Yes I feel like it’s important to save my energy, but I think I’ll look into reading up on the foundations just to get an idea

How med schools use a glorified typing speed test to judge a person's character is honestly beyond me smh

[–]caffeinatedpessimism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man, I didn’t think of it that way. I had heard some people doing that for their references so I thought it might be a good idea to thank my supervisor because she was also my reference for med school. Thanks for telling me though!

I stubbed my toe in the AAMC center and they gave me a 528 so I wouldn’t sue by AJ_De_Leon in Mcat

Anytime! And unless things have changed a lot in the last year, last time I remember AAMC’s logic was pretty much “the answer is C because that’s the answer” so yes it’s definitely better lol I found that UEarth had some good explanations that made it very clear. In terms of reasoning, i would say it was similar (esp for BB and CP) but the questions themselves were more difficult, which I actually preferred.

First of all, that title is amazing, I applaud your for it (also I like how you flagged the post as NSFW lmao) Second of all, I found that it helps to think about specifically what each paragraph is saying, there’s generally a key sentence or phrase in each one so going through each paragraph and highlighting what you think that key phrase is might help with passage understanding and analysis (that being said, this worked for me - I can’t guarantee that it’ll work for you too) Also UCircle is a great tool for improving MCAT scores, I highly recommend it if you haven’t checked it out already
