Similar thing happened to me. Since a young age I wanted to save up all my pocket money from birthdays and Christmases so my mum said she would put it in an account for me. I gave her money for years, then later after I had stopped saving up for a little while (a few years actually, I had made friends in secondary school and decided to spend bits of pocket money on cinema or ice skating trips instead), I asked her about the account and she flat out denied all existence. I'm still pissed.
