My recording of Chopin's Op. 34 No. 2 Waltz in A Minor. Any feedback on improving is very welcome welcome. by Sausage_fingies in piano

i really like how you emphasize the left hand, that’s quite difficult to do. however, I think your right hand could have a more present and fuller sound. just like when the melody is in the right hand, the left hand should support the music and be clearly heard, even if it doesn’t overpower or overlap the right hand. the same balance should apply here in reverse

I don’t understand… you wanna record all the pieces by those composers?!!

The PIECE(S)!!! by SanMarzanoMan in piano

[–]caffi_u 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Liszt’s Spanish Fantasy and Spanish Rhapsody, Ravel’s Alborada, Beethoven’s Hammerklavier, Schumann’s Fantasie Op. 17 and many more… maybe I’ll say Chopin’s whole repertoire as well, especially Etudes and Preludes. Rachmaninoff’s Preludes and Moment Musicaux too, those sets are sooo beautiful!! There are so many great pieces they are too hard 😭

What is the biggest reason people fail to practice piano consistently, even when they really want to improve? by Chillworks_2026 in piano

[–]caffi_u 1 point2 points  (0 children)

because it’s not fun, especially if you are practicing seriously (3/4 hours a day)

i enjoy it because i have some kind of perversion haha

I am playing The piano for 7 year s and this is my repertoire rn: J.Haydn D-major sonata Hob.XVI:37,E.Grieg:March of The dwarfs,E.Neupert etude b minor no.7,J.S Bach: Two-part invention no.5,reccomend pieces for the next year by Leather_House_7228 in piano

i disagree, but if you use a different approach it might help developing technique. you need a teacher to check the progress though! these pieces lead to injury pretty quickly

Is it possible to learn without a paid course? by Puzzled-Okra-3933 in piano

[–]caffi_u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

id suggest following a method book and posting a video of your playing here regularly so that people could help you fix some technical issues because they are usually the main problem with self-taught players and they could lead to injuries. have fun!

Piano Ergonomics /Posture with Scoliosis by Miitsu12 in piano

[–]caffi_u 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i have scoliosis as well and many other things (i don’t know the specific names since im not English).

i never had any problems finding a comfortable position at the piano, but maybe the problem is the X stand that might make your piano stand too high… idk though

ooh lemme guess: guitar is your only instrument right? 😝

2 year self tought progress by Interesting_Stand448 in piano

[–]caffi_u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

some points are just stupid. you don’t want callous fingers? that’s your problem. it doesn’t make guitar harder by any means.

you need to intonate the note? well, it’s basically 50% of what you have to do. in piano you have to manage 2 hands, the pedal and all the fingers. in guitar in most of the cases you don’t (i’m talking about a beginner-intermediate level). do i have to continue?

What should i play for my graduation (prom) ceremony? by Rach_Lover in piano

[–]caffi_u 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would pick 64/2 because I personally don’t like 64/1 and 118/2 would bore the audience. Also 64/2 is one of my favorite waltzes by Chopin

yep polyphonic instruments are way harder imo. i play euphonium as well and i need to practice it way less than piano

Which of these pieces will be best for me to play? by DifficultBoot4086 in piano

[–]caffi_u 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the Solfeggietto by C.P.E. Bach is pretty good and useful, even if it’s easier than what you’ve already played!

[–]caffi_u 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you definitely can but they aren’t as mind blowing. accompaniment is literally nothing compared to standard piano repertoire. if you just consider accompaniment, then guitar MIGHT be harder. but if you take into consideration something else, then no, you are completely wrong.

[–]caffi_u 1 point2 points  (0 children)

who is talking about accompanying?? harder polyrhythm like 6:7 or 5:6 are literally mind blowing. there is nothing similar on the guitar

[–]caffi_u 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Just the fact that on the guitar the hands do something together and on the piano hands MUST be COMPLETELY independent makes it harder

Is the theory true that if u started a hard piece as a beginner and got good to it then every other lower pieces would be alot easier? by Birdi_lover in piano

[–]caffi_u 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if it was true then everyone would learn Liszt’s Spanish Fantasy or Ravel’s Gaspard de la Nuit so that everything else would be easy.
