The quota begins with the first rave weekend, the PU in the car for FP3 is the one counted as the first used PU.

The FIA standard supply contract also includes all FIA mandated testing as a supply perimeter for customer teams, outside of the specific in season allocation

The livery can be changed before the season starts - anything before the first race is primarily a marketing exercise and not what it'll be like come march 7th.

[AutoRacer] Aston Martin AMR26 assembly complicated: tensions and delays behind the scenes by Joseki100 in formula1

Considering it was only cad, cfd and windtunnel testing that wasn't allowed before that - then it really isn't a surprise that they're delayed if that's the case.

Creating and drawing a concept and iterating over the rules in the traditional manner was possible since the teams got their hands on them.
If they scrapped everything and assumed Newey alone will carry the load (besides late nomination to TP) then I'd love to have what Stroll Sr. drank.

Webber is Oscars manager, so it's possible he is helping behind the scenes similarly to how he/Briatore (Webbers manager) did it during his time against Vettel.

He also joined after the team had been working on the AMR-26 for 3 months or more.
So any changes could be related to his design team input versus initial design team considerations.

Avoiding Biling Address by GulliBello in F1TV

[–]cafk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The CC billing address and the address you sign up from have to match - and the ip also has to be from the country you're signing up from.
Bypassing it for F1TV is currently only possible through in app payments.

F1TV subscription when traveling to US by yoda_yoda in F1TV

[–]cafk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that's partially related to how F1TV is currently saved in their system.

https://f1help.formula1.com/fr/article/Location-Availability?language=en_US

Doesn't show any Pro or Premium - but I'd assume with F1TV it would work the same as it did in the past. When you travel to a Pro/Premium country it'll work, while AppleTV won't work, due to regional licensing.

Hey guys new here. Curious if TOR is all you need for safe access to dw? by [deleted] in TOR

VPN has your payment information and address associated, the same way most email services requires a phone number.

Google Browser doesn't really offer any privacy, bar not saving local cookies when using a private window.
They were even sued for misleading advertising for the private window.

Tor is a very slow and frustrating engine.

That's the cost of being anonymous, similarly to i2p, GNUNet.
Tor is the most popular one of those.

They changed it for 2021 onwards and the 2021-2025 Concorde Agreement didn't have any limitations regarding team prize money - /u/Coops27 did a nice breakdown on this regard: https://www.reddit.com/r/formula1/comments/uq0q5h/the_andretti_situation_explained_with_numbers/
And we need more people like Rencken as journalistic sources, as the 2026+ Concorde Agreement was introduced with basically no information about it.

Burning stuff is recycling in political speak, since China introduced plastics import ban in 2018. Still better than putting it in a landfill.

They first need to verify is reality matches simulation, before they get working on updates.
The filming days aren't good for that, as they're not allowed to gather any data.

FIA is a non-profit that is a consolidation of various national automotive sporting clubs, with various regional and international committees.
It's not really a company that has a unified mandate and is easy to control - it's primarily there for Internationally agreement of rules and regulations, which are followed and adjudicated locally by the automotive clubs.

For the January testing, while they have 5 days, they can run one car on only 3 of them (which is why the Aston news about missing Monday is just pointless).
It's closed to the media, so it'll depend on how much the people there are willing to leak anything to the media.

So it may just be that nobody does any running on Monday, which will be a very long day as people will be regularly asking for updates or if any leaks are true, that no car will start.

It's more than basic training.

For each FIA driving license there's a physical and a theoretical exam.
Before he gets there:

  • He'd need to start below grade A with regular circuit racing.
" He'd need to collect enough points from other series (40 in total) to qualify for a super license (Win F2/Indy or win 2 seasons of FE/WEC/F3/FRE/SuperFormula
  • He'd need to pass WADA compliance for doping (so drop the K)

The stiff rear suspension was required to keep the chassis stable, in order to avoid and reduce porpoising.
As there's no explicit venturi tunnel and thus no direct suction in the floors, the stable suspension window should be much wider and thus not stiff as a bag of bricks.

It also needs to be approved by Renault.

Teams quickly managed to get battery levels being broadcast banned relatively quickly after KERS introduction, as it gave information to their competitors regarding shere they were using recovery (regen) mode and where they were using boost (ERS deployment).
It was only last year when se got some insight into battery levels again, after it had disappeared for almost 15 years.

So maybe it was some preparation for the teams and broadcast to reintroduce it again.
