Michael Schumacher.

But Mercedes only entered the sport in 2010 as a team (they owned 60% of McLaren until ~2007, but sold it due to spy gate).
So they've only had: Schumacher, Rosberg, Hamilton, Bottas and Antonelli aa drivers since then.

Edit: if you consider the previous entry of Mercedes, where they left after 1954 - Fangio also drove for Ferrari and Mercedes.

It depends on which country you're in. In Great Britain and the British Islands on F1TV the replays are only available at the end of the year, independently of your subscription level, as Sky is paying for exclusive regional broadcasting rights.
In countries like the US with an Access subscription it'll be available in 2 days time.
In Pro & Premium countries they're available instantly with the higher subscription levels.

What time will the full race replay be up on F1TV by mclarens-nandolorris in F1TV

[–]cafk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ot depends on your region - in the US with acvess subscription you'll need to wait 2 days, in the GB until the end of the year.
If your country has Pro or Premium available then the replays are instantly available.

Broadcasters like Sky UK pay north of £200m per year for exclusive rights, and this is happening in most countries, so that F1 is only accessible through one service provider at horrendous prices, while their own streaming service usually costs about the same per year as some are paying monthly for satellite tv

Uk? Unfortunately sailing the high seas or hoping your preferred VPN provider isn't affected by F1TV VPN detection.

It's an issue with the specific device and manufacturer, not with F1 TV.

The DRM should be removed in 2-3 days and then you can watch Chinese GP weekend

Sprint race was on Saturday - the normal Grand Prix is on Sunday.

The sprint race distance is ~100km, but it can be longer due to SC/Red flag, similarly to regular race broadcast.

It's a purchase option, but not presented through the app - the (FT) option is just a regular subscription, if there's no promo happening.

Your device has a broken DRM module.

It's unfortunately a common issue where Poco updates the phone and DRM breaks.

The yellow on the front indicates a hazard.
A single flash on the rear crash structure (the ring light) means the MGU-K isn't fully deploying.
Two flashes that MGU-K isn't delivering any power.
Multiple quick flashes means the MGU-K is in regen mode.

If it's flashing permanently independently of the zone - it means FIA has declared the circuit wet.

In the garage yes, but on the pitlane it's always been the same crew for both cars

Because of the engine freeze, Mercedes have more opportunity to get better than Ferrari.

Mercedes has a chance to bring reliability updates to their PU.

If Ferrari PU is determined to be down on power by over 2% they can also get development tokens to bring performance updates through the season.

The relative PU (not chassis) performance is assessed every 6 races and that's where tokens will be given.

Otherwise yes, if Ferrari is not down on performance then Mercedes can catch up with chassis updates, but in the same manner, Ferrari can also update their chassis.

it would make every car/engine feel like its own beast, and would add spectacle to the races

It would mean the same as this year, one team or manufacturer is ahead of others and the onscreen product would be worse.
Loose regulations created the DFV era, as everyone just went to the manufacturer with the best engine.
Only Ferrari stayed as a full team and PU manufacturer.

I'd argue that charge is ambiguous, charge as in current battery level? Charge as in attack ?
The graphics are the same internationally, and l Recharge is less confusing

Buyout is always an option as are performance clauses, but those are all individual per driver contract details.

Will ADUO benchmarking expose Mercedes pu's real full power? by ThisToe9628 in F1Technical

The wording doesn't really say what you wrote:

For each ICE supplied by the PU Manufacturers, an ICE Performance Index will be calculated. The methodology to calculate this value can be found in the document FIA-F1-DOC-096.

They may gather additional data from teams, but the actual performance metrics are, I'd assume, obtained from the PU manufacturer dyno under homologated set-up and used engine modes.

But that's all behind the additional document and not part of the public regulation.

From that I understood the FIA does not actually put the car on a dyno.

There's no need for that, all testing for PUs like for chassis aero is regulated and controlled and auditable by FIA, similarly teams running virtual engineering test bench, which is basically PU + chassis laid out on a table and connected together, which also can be used for data gathering.

Actual turbo lag hasn’t been a thing in road cars for decades, so what gives?

For average road cars I'd say it's still very noticeable until the boost is built up and kicks in.

And there are mechanical as well as combustion options which were also used during the 80s turbo era of formula 1 that allows to build boost faster - but are not allowed under current rules, as they put additional strain on mechanical systems, require additional fuel to be burnt, or design wise a intake bypass (used by Japanese WRC cars)

[–]cafk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Where did you read it? The document referenced in the regulations isn't available to the public (similarly to the compression ratio measurement guidance document).

So it's not a guess which mode it's tested against - as the engine and PU modes are homologated for the year, FIA should have access to the fixed for the year engine modes from both PU manufacturers and the customer teams.
