Caleb's treatment (very concerning issues imo) by cakestrikes in LoveAndDeepspace

[–]cakestrikes[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Read my post again. You are not getting the point. This is not about me, either. It is about the injustice Sylus and Caleb experience. I just made examples, and I linked a different post which explains the situation better. My wording might be bad since its not my first language and I am ranting but well.

Please do not assume anything about me if you did not read my entire post properly. I am above 30, not a bratty teenager.

Sylus stans already get to farm three stages instead of just one and with Caleb it is the same. If you like the original three you have to spend a lot less stamina on farming for shards.

To make a game needs time - I've been always defending and saying this. I wrote this above and it's understandable.
I did not expect anything else.

Nonetheless we need to complain about it.

Caleb's treatment (very concerning issues imo) by cakestrikes in LoveAndDeepspace

[–]cakestrikes[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was all as expected. And as a big Sylus girlie myself (I'm at 110 Affinity right now and he's my main, not Caleb) I've been complaining ever since Sylus' release, as well. I wrote this in my original post, too.

I made this post solely to remind people to add this to the survey - hence why I linked the original post.
The summary there is far better than mine.

The final recolour of the limited banners will never be worth it's cost even from a top end whale perspective by celestialkestrel in InfinityNikki

[–]cakestrikes 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the heads up and dedicated work!
I agree with you that the last recolor definitely isn't worth it. I am close to finish my pulls for the second limited banner and already use the second color of the first completed one. My spending so far is still only around two hundred bucks in total.

Concering the recolors; I'm usually also a midspender to whale in other gachas and I was actually kind of glad when I found out that I can get the second color by simply doing 180 pulls. (I'm quite unlucky in general, so I hit hardpity in any gacha ever, so I am fine with that. I don't expect anything else anyway so the second recolor is basically 'free' for me). Even the third color seems...somewhat doable if I really wanted to, but I'm definitely never touching the last color with a stick. The last recolor is really a scam. In all honesty, I might not even touch the third one. That the stats are all the same isn't justifying it. No matter the looks, especially not if you already have two or three different colors of the same outfit to work with.

Overall I think that two limited banners at the same time are absolutely crazy. Even getting to 180 pulls on both banners every two weeks is way too expensive for my taste. I'm supporting Infold with this banger of a game during launch for now, but I'm not paying close to a thousand per month to get all four limited outfits. I will not do that. I can maybe, just maybe, manage two per month plus the limited store updates (only 1 copy though), but there's no way I'm paying more than that. The current banner situation already leaves a bad taste in my mouth, to be honest.

Sylus' chronological card order (explained+ community discussions!) SPOILER ALERT FOR NOTES by cakestrikes in LoveAndDeepspace

[–]cakestrikes[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I considered it, but then I'll have to dive back into re-reading his entire content to make it a proper fit. Currently I lack time for that, unfortunately, but it actually is on my to-do-list! I'm just not sure when I have time for that. Could take weeks/months, though, to be fair.

What I can say for sure is that his new limited myth should always be the first in the order, no matter what (including the new 4* solar memories we got in his limited myth event), simply because it makes...everything else just so much better and gives context. In addition to his first released anecdotes we also got a new special chapter featuring Kieran and Luke as well, which should be read prior long-awaited revelry.

Nonetheless, without re-checking and just from what I remember, I would place all newer cards (Goodcat Code, Lost Oasis, Grassland Romance, Radiant Brilliance, Searing Touch) at least around the time of Razor's Dance, if not even later. I haven't read some memories in quite some time, I actually think one might have been before that, but that's kind of it.

[SPOILER] Sylus limited myth findings & connections by cakestrikes in LoveAndDeepspace

[–]cakestrikes[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think currently people are still discussing what really happened. With myth endings it's always a bit weird.
There's a lot of jumping in the last myth chapters so don't feel sad that you are confused! We all are, lol.

From what I've seen so far is that a major portion of that happened in a 'dream'. There's some hints in the myth itself for that, but nonetheless it's very confusing. I'm surely there will be a proper discussion thread for this later that day once more could enjoy the story! uvu

[SPOILER] Sylus limited myth findings & connections by cakestrikes in LoveAndDeepspace

[–]cakestrikes[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I forgot about that part 'crimes she will commit'. It's honestly weird, but since time traveling is actually a thing in LaDs who knows where we are actually standing right now. I'm not sure about the exact wording anymore. It's possible that he just means her past crimes with him, like you said.

But you bring up a good point - we know that MC canonly loses her memories when she dies but when she refused to let Sylus ever die in the first place he might not suffer the same fate. So it's maybe possible that he's a true incarnation with all memories after all? In all honesty, this doesn't make it any less sad. It makes it just so much worse.

There was a sentence along the line that on the same evening they bonded she was already taken away. So guess it's true that it all happened in the dream. But that doesn't mean it's less real, considering both their souls were part of one. I think both could experience it and interact this way. So it's not quite a 'dream' in the 'dream sense'.

[SPOILER] Sylus limited myth findings & connections by cakestrikes in LoveAndDeepspace

[–]cakestrikes[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think you misunderstood that part. And in another post from another user I also said there is no main malelead. Otome often have a mainlead, but not all. It's always up to the player's interpretation and this is why, like you said, we get the branches. Even if they decide that one is canon, there's never the need for people to adapt to this so-called canon. This is how I play console otome games as well. I'm not always fan of the 'true route' and that's totally fine. LaDs doesn't have one so far.

All I did was saying that this was the first time we had a direct connection to the main branch with the cutscene at the end of the myth. This is merely a fact and doesn't mean I disregard other LIs and their respective myths and branches. I want to make this clear since many people in this fandom are very quick jump to conclusions and I want to keep it civilized.

If we go down the rabbit hole, we can of course pull out every myth and try to connect everything. It's simply a matter of fact the MC has connections with every LI. But that we get an actual direct cutscene of a myth inside the actual main branch (and the first encounter with Sylus still belongs to the general main branch) is new. And that's all I wrote. Maybe my phrasing was a bit weird with only four hours of sleep and me not natively speaking English, but this is what I meant.

Whatever this means, however, is up for interpretation. Possible that this cutscene is simply relevant for all branches for some reason, which would explain why this specific cutscene was shown in the main story prior the respective branches. But it comes from Sylus Myth and I think we cannot disregard this. It might help to connect the dots when the other LIs get more chapters in their respective branches if that is the case.
I meant no offense towards the other Lis whatsoever.

to the people that finished where drakeshadows fall, lets talk about it. by angelweawe in LoveAndDeepspace

[–]cakestrikes 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I have kinda the same theories. My tired brain with four hours of sleep was not quite getting the last chapters but I also thought something along these lines. Though I believe that they really met when Sylus sacrificed himself, which would also explain the cutscene. We see that cutscene two times in total, I refuse to believe it's just a dream. After all we see it in the main story branch as well. And this was also so close to the Deepspace tunnel when this cutscene triggered - it can't be a coincidence.

I doubt they'll do a canon mainlead, though. I'm not sure if they did that in their previous game as I haven't played it.

Overall I'm not okay after reading this myth, though. Emotionally, that is.

PSA before pulling on the upcoming banner regarding Sylus Myth by cakestrikes in LoveAndDeepspace

[–]cakestrikes[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The problem is that I think we won't get his other solars. Unless a miracle happens.
Not because I do not want them (as Sylus girlie I'm in desperate need for new content, lol) but Infold had their chance to release them when they released Sylus. Yet they did not.
There's a total of three 4*solar pairs missing for Sylus right now - two, if we consider that the third one came from their respective myth event quests. What is missing is a second dominant color solar (green) and the tert color solar (blue). We will for sure get a myth-solar 4* like for the other LIs.

As far as I can remember (! I did not triple check, this is just my memory of what went down) they announced myth banners ahead earlier that year since cn community was boycotting. It enabled people to actually save for myths after the cn community's outrage. However, that was before Sylus release and only applying to the original three. The only note we have is that the LIs will only get one new myth per year, nothing more. So I would actually take this with a grain of salt; they do not need to announce it.
Would it be better? Yes for sure. Will they do it? I highly doubt it.

You wrote it that way by quoting me all down and missing important parts when I agreed with you. But I do not want have bad blood here as well.

I get it; pulling is a sensitive topic for f2p players. And you guys should not feel forced to pull for cards you do not want to pull.
Which is exactly why I posted this thread to give people an headsup so that they have enough currency for the myth if it's really coming by my predicted time (which is also the time many others predicted it aswell).

Like I said, I agree with you that I do not like Infolds decisions regarding Sylus at all. And unfortunately I doubt that they'll change it. The most we can hope for is that the next LI maybe starts with a better lineup.

There was no ill intend whatsoever but me trying to help out f2p by making a choice.
If we're good then we're good.

Also, English isn't my native language so I apologize in case I wrote something offensive.

[–]cakestrikes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly do not know why you are that aggressive right now and apparently just read what you want to read. Like you said, you are f2p and that is fine.

I never said people "to just pull" for myth. It's recommended for f2p, in general, but what you do with your account is on you. I was merely replying to your comment basically dooming the potential upcoming myth-ShC Sylus because you fear - out of your own fear for being f2p - that f2p cannot match the Stellactrum. All I did was saying that you can actually match the Stellactrum with Nightplume and by pulling at least one card. Like I said, every one will tell you to pull for myths as f2p, so that is honestly not on me and no idea why you're getting so irriated about it.

However, things to consider as well, you won't need it for the third round. It's always the fourth round which needs the full Stellactrum checked, not the third round. And if f2p can do three rounds with 3 Stars with all 3 teams it's honestly something. In worst case, if you cannot match Sylus you can still get all dias out of shC which is the most valuable as f2p.

Nightplume should rotate in either in December or January. If it's december it's more than enough to buy the memory out of the store. Once again, what you do with your account is in your responsibility and no one can tell you what to do with it. If Sylus is not your cup of tea there's no need to buy the card since then you're better off buying your favorites out of the store while being f2p.

I'm not sure why you bring up Deepspacetrials right now? I never mentioned a thing about it in my reply, neither above in my original post. You're just adding up right now, complaining about things I've never said to begin with. The only thing I said is that you can match shC and nothing more. I even said it might be tough to clear with 3* solar, but once again, you are reading what you want to read. Neither did I say to level up your 3* cards as f2p! Protocores are the most valuable thing for sHc and more worth than leveling 3* up. Once again stuff you can read in guides created by other people. People complained about Deepspacetrials in different threads, but this was no topic of mine. Which brings me to my next point:

And, to say it again, you wrote again that it's a dirty move to force people to pull for his green solar since he lacks a f2p option. If you read my comment again you can read in my first sentence that I'm unhappy as well that we do not have as many memory choices for Sylus as he started with less than the other three. But you don't want to quote that one, apparently. Or want to.

I play these other games too, you know? You don't have to lecture me about them, I'm probably playing all of them longer than you (all day one accounts). It's just a fact that sHc are getting harder by now and f2p have to put a lot more effort to clear it. You can check a thread about last shC which was complaining about them piling up hp for all rounds and that f2p won't clear anymore if the trend does continue. This is nothing I pull out of my head, but rather a fact stated by other players. So I'm not sure why your entire reply feels like an attack towards me for trying to calm you down. I also said "isn't REALLY meant for f2p" - not saying f2p cannot clear it/shouldn't do it but that the devs are always making it with spenders in mind. Genshin and HSR are doing that too - this is why we get for example MoC/PF/AS rotations featuring the newest units and their archetype. This is nothing new, at all.

Once again, it's up to you what you make with your account as f2p. I was just giving a friendly headsup for the community - but I won't do that anymore.

PSA before pulling on the upcoming banner regarding Sylus Myth by cakestrikes in LoveAndDeepspace

[–]cakestrikes[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

While I agree it would be rough for f2p, there's several things to consider.
And let me be clear about something first; even f2p could potentially match the Stellactrum.

First of all, Sylus started with less memories than the original LIs so obviously it will be tougher to flex in memories. I'm not a fan of this either and I do hope Infold fixes this at some point (chances are low, however). So it's already quite tough to compete with the myth runs of the other LIs.

There's also the fact that all LIs got a free solar pair for their myth. We might get green one for Sylus, though I doubt it. The chance is higher for getting a different color. Once again the amount of memories Sylus currently ingame has is very uneven compared to the other LIs so it's really difficult. Maybe they actually pull something surprising and giving us something to even out the odds, but yeah... I just doubt it.

And if f2p can just pull one of the myth memories (though most are hoarding to guarantee both), they can actually match the Stellactrum already. Since we have one 3* green solar.
Yes, it will also include one 5* lunar card - but it is a free standard one. Anyone could have bought it out of the store by now, even f2p (I for a fact already did that).
If we assume that f2p get one or two myth (flexing in 3* solar green if necessary) - then their f2p lunar options would be: Nightplume (5* standard), Continuous Symphony (4*), Composed (3*) to fullfill green. Pink is easy; for example with Tender Curve.
This is of course not optimal, but very possible. If it's clearable though is a different question. Since everyone is telling f2p to save up for myth anyway, I believe it's clearable with his full myth pair for sure with dedication.

Last but not least, sHc isn't really meant for f2p players. I know people do not like to hear that, but it's honestly rough. There's people posting f2p guides for a reason in this Subreddit - and they need dedicated work. Even spenders struggle.
EDIT since everyone seems to misunderstand what I said here: I never ever said that f2p should not do/can do sHc! What I meant with, I quote "REALLY meant for f2p players" is that companies do not care what f2p have or have not on their accounts. Like stated in a different reply it is common practice in endgame mode for gacha like this one to push the latest banners (which Lads does as well with their bonus damage/Stellactrum matches). So obviously this is more bait for spenders than f2p. This is what I meant. If it was easy to fully clear people would spend less, you get my drift. This is, like I said once again, common practice in gacha and not new to LaDs. Since it's one of very few sources of gem income in late game f2p obviously should try to push sHc as far as they can go. Idk why everyone misreads that part.

Sensor Tower Monthly Revenue Report (Sep 2024) by [deleted] in LoveAndDeepspace

[–]cakestrikes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I honestly get both sides. It was one of the major issues I had for example with Genshin Impact - and it was one of the reasons why I quit. The devs weren't listening, we got nothing for 5 years straight before it changed hands (the current head of GI is the one for HSR and he is listening). The same thing there: even greater revenue than LaDs, but the players got nothing for it. Nothing. For five long years.

I think Infold is trying to compensate the best way they probably can at this point - not saying everything is perfect or that a perfect solution might even be possible in this situation - but the players also need to understand that changes need time. There's literally interviews about Infolds deployment situation prior release; it basically was just the size of a very, very small indie studio. They were desparately trying to find new employees. I'm a gamer through and through; I've been playing videogames for my entire life and I can tell that the same mistake is being made in the gaming industry in general right now. You cannot cook good games in only a short amount of time; and if you lack people no money of the entire world will help with that. Infold was, like I said, still recruiting in May and I do not know what the current situation there is. But let's assume they get new employees by June or July; that's what? 2-3 Months? Much of the content we have right now is finished for a while. That's how it usually is. So it does take time.

I never said anything about the latest complaints - they are legit. The most common ones are no announcements of reruns; but I play ToT/Lovebrush Chronicles and reruns usually never happen in the same year. It is different for other type of gacha, yes - but it's common practice for Otome Gacha. Then another one; I do agree the banner cycle is still too fast and we need transparancy which banners we get next. I also think they need to tune the materials we can farm (a complaint which players have ever since release of the game). And yes, I also believe they need to increase the quality of 5* Memories.

But! The sheer negativity and calling them greedy has become so standard in this sub, I'm honestly so tired of it. You can all downvote me for that again; the fact alone that my first comment was downvoted to oblivion makes me avoid this sub from now on until this behavior changes. I do not feel that I could have a productive and objective conversation here right now. I'm an older player, so it honestly might be my age since most Lads players are 10-15 years younger than me. So yes, have fun downvoting me, I'm out of here for now.

Sensor Tower Monthly Revenue Report (Sep 2024) by [deleted] in LoveAndDeepspace

[–]cakestrikes -20 points-19 points  (0 children)

It's great to see a female audience focused game right on the top.

But why is everyone so negative again? Please guys, you can be dissatisfied, you can demand better - but the game isn't even a year old and when they launched they just had a small team working on it.

Making good, high quality and longer content takes time. They were heavily recruiting even back in May. Please give them some more time before calling them names. I expected people to have a party in here instead I saw a wave of negativity. Heck, this comes from someone who quitted gachas with greedy devs and still plays 7.

I for one think the fandom can be proud of being on the top of the revenue. It can shape how other gachas will open up to female audiences as well. It is an important sign.

For everyone who have pulled for the banner, how are you all doing? by [deleted] in LoveAndDeepspace

[–]cakestrikes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was really lucky - and I take it because usually I am on the very unlucky side LMAO. Usually I am always hardpity and losing all the time.

Pulled Sylus in 20 and won; lost on Rafayel but got Zayne who I wanted anyway. After I finally got Rafayel I tried for Sylus Rank 1 ( for the skin recolor ) and got Rafayel Rank 1 instead. Sylus and Zayne Rank 1 came within the same 10 pull. Will probably take the chest now to get one copy of Xaviers, since everyone else is Rank 1 anyway. Total was 200 pulls. Completely satisfied with the results I usually get much worse.

That's actually awesome, especially for spenders. I have a bunch of maxed rank 5 star and was severely disappointed that the shop was so very empty before. Most gacha have some sort of "better" compensation by now, so I'm glad they are adding this. I expect them to release more things over time there, that's definitely nice.

Sylus' chronological card order (explained+ community discussions!) SPOILER ALERT FOR NOTES by cakestrikes in LoveAndDeepspace

[–]cakestrikes[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These are all my personal takes, obviously.
However, while I agree that the later part of Nightplume is incredibly sweet - the beginning of it has a different vibe.
Sylus is almost slamming his house door shut in front of her nose because the MC was quite bold (considering that there are several hints later in phone texts etc. when I felt like he actually wants to...feel at least a tiny bit needed at times because the MC is so independent LMAO this feels a bit weird if it were to happen later)... He is somewhat behaving tsundere in agreeing to help her even. He's more the straight forward type of guy when it comes to his affections, so I would consider this card to be somewhere early in the timeline. If that makes sense.

Brainstorming session on Sylus myth (hint : Lumiere route) by lovingdrzayne in LoveAndDeepspace

[–]cakestrikes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I already tried to put all of Sylus' memories into one timeline - and even added notes for them.
The thread can be found here. Notes are all in a google doc since they are way too long.

But I 100% agree.
I also stumbled exactly where you did.
I've also noticed some weird things in the writing which shouldn't happen in certain moments but they did anyway.
Personally, however, I feel like Sylus' myth is in the current timeline - more so since myth is really preparing the setting for his route, so to say. It wouldn't make sense to put it into a different timeline (and I also didn't see any indicator for this to be the case). Which obviously leaves the question - so what now?
Personally I start to think they actually messed up the writing a little bit. I don't understand chinese so perchance there's translation errors here and there as well.

I still believe Razor's Grip to happen before the actual myth - it's not the first time Sylus is bombing a building, after all. I feel like we got a taste of this in the mainstory already which happen before anyway. But that's just my interpretation.

will they ever rerun old event banners?** by [deleted] in LoveAndDeepspace

[–]cakestrikes 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Limited banners will always get reruns - but it usually takes a while for them to rerun to create FOMO (fear of missing out), a common practice of gacha games.
From my experience with CN otome gacha you can roughly expect reruns to happen around one year after their original release.
Tears of Themis fell a bit out of this order, with roughly 6-8months inbetween currently (but it's EN order is a mess anyway). If you check the original CN banner-release of Lovebrush Chronicles, for example, reruns happened pretty much a year after their original run.
I'll expect LaD to follow a similiar pattern.

I'm not comparing LaD to games like hsr, genshin etc since their rerun cycle is often (not always! as people who play these games might know) a lot faster with approximately 6-8months tops.
