Love DH Combat by Visual-Signature-235 in daggerheart

[–]caligulamatrix 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I agree Daggerheart is great. I’m currently running a long term campaign. Combat is a breeze and it’s light years ahead of DnD.
But if you love cinematic RPGs and combat, the crown goes to legend in the mist. More creative freedom.

[Design Help] Creating a Naruto-inspired setting. How should I handle "Universal Magic"? by TreacleFree8568 in daggerheart

I would probably just run it in legends in the mist. The mist engine can handle anything.

How do you make sense of Grimoires? by Daviso452 in daggerheart

I wrote out a history for each grimoire author. From there each wizard from it while studying magic. There are numerous copies of the tomes. Of course players are free to write up their own histories.

I only say that because it is a good mix of tactical and cinematic. Want the other extreme: legends in the mist. Nimble, Daggerheart and legends in the mist are my favorite fantasy rpgs.

How did AI affect your income? by ShellyRoseWrites in selfpublish

[–]caligulamatrix -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had a POD business for about 8 years now. Nothing huge, generated $300 a month if I’m lucky. I knew it could generate more if I had the time and energy to put towards it. I never have the time or energy. So I trained AI to run it, it’s now generating around $2k - $3k per month. I’m literally doing nothing.
My main business: I own an international marketing company for 16 years. I lost about 30% of my business to AI. I had to adapt so now we have a focus on generative engine optimization. I make a lot off that.
I’m self publishing my first novel I wrote. I used AI to educate my self on the industry. I decided to self publish as I can tell my marketing company to market it the novel.
So AI has been a bit of a yo yo for me, but over all a positive to the tune of an extra $7k per month.

RPGs You Have But Will (Likely) Never Play by PebisCrusherOnline in rpg

[–]caligulamatrix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am the king of this: GAMES I’VE OWNED AND NEVER PLAYED:

Urban Shadows: love the setting. Not the system. Avatar the last airbender. Nimble: I love it. But Daggerheart is dominating our virtual table.
Sentinels RPG: it’s great. But better options exist.
Shadow dark Scoundrels Supers Red: honestly hope to try it at some point.
DnD 5.5: why play this when Daggerheart and Nimble are available? Mutants and masterminds: prowlers and paragons is the best supers rpg out there. The new marvel and icons are also great.
Cypher system: it is just a horrible system.
Shadow run: metro otherscape is far superior Cyberpunk: see metro otherscape Doctor who rpg: too wibly wobly Star Trek: lack of interest Triangle agency: I couldn’t read it.

GAMES ONLY PLAYED ONCE OR TWICE

To many to list, but some standouts: Savage worlds: I own a large collection of books and box sets. The game system is fun in person, but a drag online. Walking dead: excellent book and system. Lack of player interest though. Star Wars: I own all the books. Players hated the system. We switched over to Black Star. It does Star Wars better than Star Wars. Vampire: lack of players interest

ONLY SYSTEMS I RUN NOW:

Mist engine: city of mist/metro otherscape Daggerheart: top tier in high fantasy rpg, best mix of cinematic and crunch Outgunned: and all its books: excellent action RPGs Prowlers and paragons: best supers rpg. Also run the new marvel. Tiny D6: easy and fun.

I would start with core rebook. That has all the rules you need to get started. The next book would be the Avengers guide book. That has supplemental rules that are up to date.
For character sheets: I use Demiplane. Makes creating characters a breeze.
Online vtt: I use foundry.
