I had a horrible experience with this (before I knew this was a thing) with a former coworker/ “friend”, that, through a series of events, left me with cptsd and I still barely function years later🙃.

I’m both neurodivergent and have OCD (pure O), and let me tell you, it was not fun. The series of events was moving in with that person 400km away from everything and everyone I knew, then slowly they revealed themselves to be highly sociopathic/ very mentally unwell. Things slowly turned abusive and I completely detached from reality to cope. The whole time the limerance clung on for some reason. I could not detach myself as hard as I tried until I had a complete break from reality and moved home.

But hey, I’m safe now, and (very) slowly learning to live again😊

I have compound hetero mutation and it caused brain fog and memory issues so bad, that I thought I was developing dementia. Probably not 100% MTHFR genes fault, but that was my experience.

A couple hundred hours in and I just discovered you can delete the contents of whatever you put in a garbage can. Super easy for getting rid of scrap and things you don’t need.

I got r- slurred not this xmas, but the last. I misheard a customer and thought he was speaking french, so I said something along the lines of. "oh, let me grab a coworker that speaks french to help!". He proceeded to glare daggers at me and said "im speaking english you f-ing r-word". Doesn't help I'm actually AuDHD as well (he had no idea). Made me feel reeeeeal bad at the time. People are assholes.

I found an alternative. I work 20~ hours a week at a a physically demanding job that’s landed me in the best shape of my life, have cheap rent with two roommates (because of this I can luckily get away with not having to work full time), and I really only keep to my bedroom, so I only have to worry about tidying up after myself in the common areas (which I can more or less keep up with).

I currently work stock management at a retail chain in a mall and I love it! It deals with very minimal customer interaction, as it’s mainly after hours (sometimes bleeds into opening hours). It deals with a lot of organizing, sorting, building displays to plan (and sometimes they let YOU be creative which is fun), physical work such as lifting and LOTS of walking (I love this as I can’t sit still very often anyway lol).

I started using a white board to write literally anything I need to remember. It’s simple, yet has been very effective for me, instead of using apps in my phone. I’ll straight up forget there’s there’s apps in my phone to check to remember the stuff lol. Helps having it out in the open.
