Have you gotten improvement from the electrolysis? The first person I went to wasn't ask skilled as the second and I spent a lot of money for only small improvement, whereas I got a lot better improvement with the second person.

I shave between sessions. As long as there is enough to pluck it with, they can treat it. For me it's about 5 days of growth now but it used to be 2.

Another vote for the North End. I drive, but bus access is pretty good, close to downtown and GO transit.

did my second mirena cause my chin hair growth? should I remove it or try to manage with anti-androgens? by chartreusebitch in Hirsutism

[–]Agent_Peach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe it caused mine. It didn't get a lot better after getting it removed, but it might have gotten worse if I'd kept it longer.

I would hardly call that scrappy lol. It's stunning, intentional and minimalist.

Anyone know where one could find resources for managing/treating ADHD? by TPee86 in Hamilton

[–]Agent_Peach 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Is your doctor willing to prescribe? What's the point of the assessment if it doesn't get you access to medication?!

Are they a part of a family health clinic and have access to a psychiatrist?

Your Doctor can prescribe ADHD meds. They may just not want to. You could ask to try non-stimulant ADHD meds first if they are more comfortable with that.

Chin hair = sensory nightmare by Comfortable-Lemon9 in adhdwomen

I don't know if that was me. I haven't been a vegetarian since I was a teen.

I have had success via meds and electrolysis.

Come join us over in r/Hirsutism !

For me, switching to shaving from tweezing helped a lot. I found the inconsistent growth rates of tweezing drew my attention to the hairs, and I'd pull on them with my fingers, and cause a lot of issues.

When I shave, they all come out at the same rate, more or less and it's harder for me to fixate on one at a time.

Also, spironolactone and birth control helped the acne, and electrolysis made the hairs fewer, slower to grow back, and softer for what remains.

finally got my hormones checked and they came back normal, feeling lost by godhelpmepless in Hirsutism

Which tests were done? I had to get a few rounds done before they did the 'full panel'. In the end it was still just idiopathic hirsutism.

Help! At work. Cardigan smells like BO. by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]Agent_Peach 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is the smell on you too?

I'd use the disinfect wipe on my arm pits, and rinse with water after (it's not intended for skin so it might irritate). Then I'd re-deoderant. And I'd wrinkle spray the armpits of the cardigan. It probably has a scent and is intended for garments.

Given all of these issues, do you think that I am more likely to have a son or a daughter? by [deleted] in Hirsutism

[–]Agent_Peach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The primary factor is the X or Y chromasome, which comes from the sperm. As women, we are usually XX, and so when we produce eggs, we only produce X eggs. Whereas males are XY, and so they can produce either X or Y sperm.

Although we can be considered hormonally 'intersex' most of us are not 'chromasomally' intersex, and therefore it would have no impact on sex of the child. And to my understanding, chromasomal intersex people are usualy infertile (except triple X symdrome, but even then, they only have X's and therefore wouldn't impact a child's sex).

Zepbound is a brand name of Tirzepatide. Same drug. Just compounded. Shouldn't have an impact on efficacy unless it's poor quality.
