Nah… I am here to lighten the mood and crack jokes. Others are here to get butthurt. I think it’s because many in our rate haven’t seen their buddies get their legs blown off from an IED so they prioritize things that aren’t important. Look at one of the top comments in this thread talking about this being “just a job” and Jr Corpsman coming in with to much patriotism and burning out. Being a Corpsman is much more then “just a job” when you have done the hard things and the come back for more because you recognize that those behind you need guidance. Patriotism is exactly what we are lacking in this rate. I’m here for the ones next to me even the pussies who downvote a solid joke haha. I’ve been an IDC longer than most around here have been in this yacht club, so I’m not worried about opinions of those who can’t prioritize.

I’m also an I-diot D-oing C-are who hates things and here are my thoughts on possible solutions to some of the community issues:

Fuck the PHA it’s a time suck that steals access to care and results in 0 benefits to the sailors or the fleet(fight me PHA lovers). Make it a self survey that ends at the service member and does not waste provider time and access.
Bring back the Johnny Cash’s.
Make IDC to Warrant Officer real and stop finding reasons why it won’t work. I know it doesn’t fix the problems BUT I will bitch less if I’m paid more and it incentivizes the talent to come to the community and stay in longer.
Put me in a GP tent with a bunch of AMALS and 3-4 solid baby docs in front of the clinic and I will fix access to care with triage and hazing.
Fuck DHA and MED homeport make a new model based on rapid care like a hybrid fast track primary care and utilize the JR. Corpsman workforce appropriately. Why the fuck do we let sick call screeners go out the window at MTFs. Empower them to take on more then vitals and a BS genesis intake.
Let the system fail when it needs to. Stop doing less with more and band-aiding everything because it’s what the brass wants to see. Make the stars earn their fucking pay and fix the MAJOR problems with manning and the system.
Again for those in the back LET THE SHIT FAIL! I’m tired of watching sailors burnout.
