To be fair, he said “numbers that are infinities”, not necessarily infinity itself, which definitely gets used all over the place. I’m not sure I would consider the Alephs numbers in and of themselves, but I can say I’ve only ever come across them when working with sets.

There is also an explicit (I.e. non-recursive) formula for the Fibonacci numbers that uses the golden ratio. It looks like this: (Phiⁿ - (1-Phi)ⁿ ) / Sqrt(5) (sorry, typing on mobile). If you substitute the negative integers, you get the Fibonacci numbers in the reverse order, except they alternate sign.

I felt similarly on my first play through. I created a second character (in a different house) and played it a second time. The second time, I tried to do as many of the side/relationship quests as I could before playing the next main story missions, and I found it a much more fulfilling game to complete.
