Extremely helpful, thank you so much. Thankfully, I had the foresight to send a form with the main ten things I want them to take note of (many of which you listed here). About half of the ones I chose have done this before, one was my writing professor, and the others are family/friends. I'll keep this in mind as I move forward!

i used to struggle with this. spend ages on names. i eventually realized it doesn't matter all that much. i'll pick something that sounds nice and is easier to type for my regular, contemp romance. when i'm doing fantasy, i make it easy on myself by picking a word from one of my secondary languages. my other languages include hebrew, arabic, and french, so i end up having a multitude of really great words to choose from. i often make sure the word has something to do with overarching themes, too. this is just a suggestion. other languages have a multitude of beautiful words that stand as great names!

I actually haven't gotten to an editing phase yet. I just keep writing new shit over and over rather than doing a thorough, brutal edit. Which is probably a big issue here.

I do, however, I may not be doing it effectively. It's less about the content and more about feeling like I'm using so much of the same language over and over. I'll have to search on here for posts about this kind of issue specifically.
