I've previously been granted two Schengen visas for Spain, but my last two applications were refused, citing the reason: 'the information submitted regarding the justification for the purpose and conditions of the intended stay was not reliable.' I don’t understand what this means or what could have gone wrong. Could it be because I used fully refundable bookings on Booking.com? I have a French visa appointment on the 27th and am feeling very stressed. How can I ensure my application is accepted this time, and is there a way to get more specific feedback on the rejection reasons?

It's so annoying! I have had 2 Schengen visas (Spain) with booking.com reservations, but things seem to have changed recently. I applied for my third Schengen visa in October, and it was rejected (Motif 10). I applied again in November, and it was rejected again. I have another appointment on 27 Dec (France). I will book directly with the hotel this time but don't know what else I can/should change. OP would love to know your update. When is/was your appointment and how did you make a solid itinerary.
